• I did my first service today (with my brother in law's help)
Penrite 10w-40 fully synthetic oil, Ryco oil filter, Ryco fuel filter, Ryco cabin filter.
Cleaned the maf and k&n filter whilst at it.
2007 GXL V6 - ARB Bullbar with LED lights, snorkel, extractors, 2 1/4" dual exhaust, K&N filter, dimpled/slotted rotors, headrest dvd players, Ebay Satnav/reverse camera, GME 3100TX, Tigerz11 Side awning on custom brackets with Maxtrax mounts, 300W Invertor, ARB Underbody protection, Lightbar and STZ 265/70 tyres.
Wish list in order I'll get them: Sliders, 2" lift, E-locker, Winch bar with winch.

• May I suggest getting rid of the K&N and putting a paper filter back in. K&N or similar filters don't play well with MAF sensors. The oil out of the filter creates a film on the sensor, causing it to read incorrectly, particularly if the filter is over oiled. If you choose to keep it make sure it's not over oiled and make sure you clean the MAF regularly, I would say at least every 5,000Km. If the oil is left on the sensor it can build up a tarnish which is very hard if not impossible to clean off without damaging the sensor. Good work on learning to service it yourself though.
Silver 150 Facelift
TJM Bullbar, Lightforce Genisis Spots, Dual Battery System with bits from everyone, Powerful 4x4 slider/steps, Kaymar rear bar, "Genuine" Roof Racks, MSA Seatcovers, Dashmat, Tint, LED Interior Globes, Bridgestone D697s

Good advice. I'm going to do the same.

On another note. Put in the repco knockoff version of the Bosch wipers today. Absolutely brilliant (although expensive for all 3). So much better than OEM! Now just need to find some hilux sprayers!

Not sure who you asking that question? But regardless, I have had a bonnet scoop fitted to mine for over 5 years now and I would say that any gains in performance or cooling or fuel economy, if they exist, are so minuscule that its not worth worrying about.

The only reason for a bonnet scoop is looks, IMO.

Cheers Andrew

Plenty of people have fitted aftermarket uppers to their Prados. I have SPC arms in mine, they are sold here by fulcrum suspension. Keeps the alignment in spec and drives exactly the same as the originals did, win as far as I am concerned.

• Thanks all for the advice.

I installed an oil catch can a few months ago. I wasn't convinced it would make a difference but within the first 2 weeks I had at least 5mm of oil collected in the can. Should've done it earlier. HPD in ADL do a nice job - see attached photo

• Installed LED internal lights bought from PP suggestions from here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261940065...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

However, two door lights and one back door light would not work. No problem with circuit as they were working at the time.

Have to return them. Despite that am very pleased with the results - specially the map lights.

• For my 2003 Grande I got a Locksmith to fit me the new type flip key with the original unlock/lock transponder chip inside. No more key scratching my cell phone!!

A few days prior I got the ole 1KZ dyno tuned (has a Steinbauer chip plus 2.75" Beaudesert Exhaust). From the wheels it got tuned from @72KW to a now 81KW. They also adjusted the boost to lean off fuelling as it was running really rich..so it's now got a manual boost controller.

Boost gone from 10 psi to 12 psi, seems to run a lot better now and a few days earlier the original steel cable winch was removed from the alloy bar which must have weighed around 30 kgs!!! I'll put this in the 'For Sale' when I work out what bits go where...it's truly a monster though, the cars suspension bounces more as a consequence though as there is more travel in the shocks??
