is that 2 micron filter before or after the factory one?

Roger that. Read about the accessibility of those pesky orange clips.

The 2 micron filter is AFTER the factory one. In theory, should there be a detection of water, the factory unit should alert me, whilst the new secondary unit will catch anything that gets past the factory one. I guess the way to catch it is to also do a regular inspection of the water bowl on the Fuel Master and to also drain the factory one every so often as well.

I have noticed slightly better pedal response since changing the filter, so I would say that it was definitely time to get rid of it.

Thursday. picked up a very nice '05 GRJ120 VX auto from John Huges in Vic Park

Yesterday. Fitted new front and rear brake rotors and pads with RDA slotted and dimpled fronts, stock rears and RDA extreme pads all round, inspected underbody greasing all points which hadn't seen a grease gun in a long time

Today. Fitted the UHF and suffered the shock of paying for 170L of 95ULP

Thanks Bill. This Prado has been a long time coming and funnily enough is the nicest driving and best performing example of a GRJ120 that I've ever driven. To be honest I did want a KDJ but most are ex-miners and unless you've worked on the site where it came from and buy it via "Work" they're best avoided even though most are supervisors rides and don't see the pit very often. The other clincher was it was the cleanest and best priced one in Perth, even got it from a dealer! The other one was having all 3 original keys which none of the others seemed to have.

Now to keep to topic while nothing was done per-se on "Playdough" today a bit of a cruise was had in the new ride and a decision got made.

While I purchased it for the wife..... Well I like it too much so am going to sell the V8 surf and get a Rav4 for her then keep it for myself

Anyone want to buy a1UZ powered factory widebody 2 door Surf with only 145 genuine kms on it?

        • What I did to my 120 was wire in some VE commodore horns. Sounds a bit meaner than the factory meep meeps. Next up, wiring in my auxiliary air horn

                • Began to look into a serious PIP package for all GRJ models from budget to high end JDM type. Despite the fact that the GRJ120 that "Fell out of the sky and landed on my lap and out performs v8 surf (which is now parked up) and seems to run on the thought of a wet fart

Exactly. Bought it in January 2015 like that.

Finally decided that it was completely unacceptable.

                            • greased the tailshaft for the first time in ages (years). Found grease to be in good condition despite lots of water driving etc. seemed to be moly based coming out of the uni's tho which isn't right. Last tailshaft lube was done by Toyota probably 3 years / 10,000km ago.

Wonder if they have different guns specifically for uni and yoke or they just go around with the same gun

Wouldn't surprise me if they used one gun for all the nipples. Actually, it wouldn't surprise me at all if most dealers didn't even touch the grease nipples!
I use two guns, one large lever action with Castrol LMX for the unis and one small pistol grip with moly grease for the slip joints.
