What did you do to your 120 today?

My dash cam is plugged in to one of a couple of cig plugs I have hidden inside the kick panel near said fuse box supplying power for a number of accessories including TPMS & IPad, which is feed via a fused circuit off my aux batt so it is permanently energised and ready to record any parking event whereas the power magic pro will cut out should a preset voltage be reached or the power on timer (adjustable) expires. The dash cam automatically switches from normal mode to parking mode when the vehicle is stationary for 5 minutes.

Installed a BlackVue DR650S-1CH Dashcam yesterday. It came with a bonus BlackVue Power Magic Pro which when wired up provides power to the unit when parked up and will isolate should the battery voltage drop to a preset level. I wont be using this however as I am running off my 2nd battery which will drain bugger all.
Nice little Cam with built in GPS & WiFi to iPhone or Cloud. Just need to get a bigger micro SD card as it only comes with a 16GB. probably chuck in a 64GB for now...

The Power Magic Pro is useful because it frees up the lighter socket and gets rid of the wiring. Also is puts the camera in to parking mode, then when you start the car it tells you "An impact was detected while parking" or words to that effect so you know to check the recordings. Also in parking mode it buffers the video and only writes it to the card if there was an impact or motion which saves the limited write cycles of the card.

Probably easiest way to set it up is get 2 "Fuse Taps" from Ebay and plug it in to the fuse box (accessories and a constant 12v), and the earth i attached to a bolt at the top of the kick panel right near the fuse box.

As for what i done to the 120 today, added a bonnet protector and an exhaust tip to angle the new 3" down and away from the bumper to stop the soot.

Fitter and Turner tradesman with 37 years experience, fitted more machines and or 4wd that i care to remember.

What can an installer do to make wires ' fall off'. Also what could i do to make the manufacturer put a little square of clear plastic as insulation. How could i make a gearbox not freespool or the brake not work. I must have taken the buttons on the remote and changed them.

What part of difficult customer service did i do. I'm the one who had to drive back and forth to their shop.

Be my guest and buy one and i'll come and get you with the Warn Zeon.

I was talking about the bad crimping, if that came from Sherpa like that then I apologise, it's a bit hard to determine much from a couple of photos.

Thanks for posting, some of those issues look like they're from the installer.

I've installed a couple myself, and have a mate who has a couple that get used on an industrial scale on mine sites.
I do know that people have had problems with the gearbox seizing because it's been taken off to be spun and not sealed up properly again.

I can understand your trepidation, but my personal experiences have been positive.

I fitted one of ozbush's manual mapper with improved MAF unit. Yet to install full EGR blank plate but may try this afternoon to install. Removed my old IPF 900 s spots that I had on the bullbar. They had started to rust quite badly both inside and out which is dissapointing as they are reasonably expensive to buy. I am going to refurb tham and possibly put in 130w halogen globes. I test fitted some 9" 55Watt HID spots that I got for a very cheap price off eBay. So far so good but they are massive and I can just get them to fit on the bullbar by removing part of the mounting base. They give off a very blue light in daytime, I will give them a run tonight to see how they perform after dark. It may be wishful thinking, but the Prado seems to be running better after the ozbush mapper and the MAF upgrade. I have it set to -5 and the car seems to be quieter and actually running better. I can only assume that the new MAF unit is giving immediate measurable results. I will plug it in to techstream to see if there is any obvious change on the engine data sheet. Bought a bulk load of 2 b&s tinned copper cable from eBay. Sellers were upgrading their 10m catamaran to lithium ion batteries so sold off all the surplus existing tinned marine cable. If you haven't taken delivery of the Sherpa winch - DON'T. I've had two of the 17000lb units and they are absolute rubbish. Wired incorrectly, cheap insulation, undersize and cheap electric cables, incorrectly wired remote, gearbox failure brake failure.

Fairly new here but thought I'd share what I'm currently up to, as I'm in the process of getting the Prado prepped for a trip to the Gibb river Rd. And hopefully Munja track.

Have ordered an ally pioneer roof tray from Rhino Rack, where I'll mount my second spare wheel, maxx tracks, awning shovel etc. Sherpa winch and snorkel also on the way. Then a lift kit and shocks and finally new boots, I'm thinking Bridgestone KO2's.

Probably going to make up my own storage drawers for the back next to my 80L BCF fridge and power top battery as my second battery.

If you haven't taken delivery of the Sherpa winch - DON'T. I've had two of the 17000lb units and they are absolute rubbish. Wired incorrectly, cheap insulation, undersize and cheap electric cables, incorrectly wired remote, gearbox failure brake failure.
