I tried everything a couple of years ago and I was just over, ended up buying a new dash and fitting it myself.

Same same, but who knows what the internal compound is now..
In other news, a heap a 120 owners have been approaching Toyota and asking for the dashboards to be looked at and replaced. Some are getting it for free, others are having to pay between $300-1200 labour and they get the dash pad supplied free. Well worth giving it a try, they seem to have turned around the 10 year thing now.
Seems about 70% are successful.

Mine is a 2006 model with a well cracked dash, and I’m very interested in understanding what’s involved in changing the dash. Did you buy from Toyota? What did you do with the odometer? Can you transfer the old reading to the new dash?Last edited by SpudGun; 27-06-2020, 07:15 PM.

If it is rejected then the only option is to buy the part from Toyota locally as it is too large to ship from Amayama/Partsouq/SSG/etc due to shipping costs. The speedo isn't replaced as part of the process.Silver '04 KZJ120~Manual~GXL~Dobinson/Kings lift~Custom valved Ironmans~Detroit Locker~Endless Air~X9 Superwinch~Madman EMS1~TJM Dual Battery~Rhino Roof Tray~120W solar panel~Foxwing awning~Bushskinz UVP~Long Ranger water tank~Bushman fridge~Steinbauer P-Box~Beaudesert 2 3/4"~Airtec Snorkel~TJM Sliders~Prico Boost Gauge~BFG-KO2s~TPMS~GME TX3420~Front and Rear Cameras~Ultimate Camper hanging off the back!

Finishing material cracks over the airbag won’t effect the airbag safety whatsoever. From what I understand 2007 models on don’t suffer from the cracking. I think it’s 2007 on. Mine’s a 2005 & cracked regardless of windscreen sun shade or decent thick coats of ArmourAll use. Windscreens are laminated glass & as such block out 99% of UV rays so it must be heat related damage, not UV damage. Where I live it’s super hot like all the time & holds the 2nd highest all time temp record for Qld (49.4 deg).
