Hey guys I have an 05 grande with 2 spider cracks in each corner of the dash. I found out via a mate who also has a prado that its a Toyota factory fault and it doesn't matter if its out of warranty they know that the 120 prado dash does this and they will organise it to be replaced.
Matter of fact I have mine booked in on Thursday the 25/10/12 your local dealer will have to take photos and send a claim off the head office but I had not dramas Toyota came back and said they would pay for everything but the fitting which is low $600's I can let you all know more info on Thursday Arvo once I pick it up.
Apparently it's only a days work to replace this 120 dash
Hope I haven't doubled p on someone else's post as there a 70 pages I didn't read all the posts

Hey guys, had my 120 in yesterday to have the dash board replaced under warrenty as its a factory fault and man have I had problems. First of all sorry I didn't report back last night as promised I was to busy going through all the damage and or problems they have caused by not doing there job properly.
Positive side the dash looks great no cracks, the negatives my genuine sat nave system no longer works and I just get a black screen on start up unless I'm using the Audio (radio function) then I noticed my leather steering wheel has had something dragged along it so there are creases on the steering wheel then I noticed my hight adjustable suspension switch doesn't work so I now can not lower the suspension any lower then the "normal" setting which means I no longer fit into underground car parks (more of a bad luck thing for the miss' then me haha) the gear selector lights next to the gear shift no longer light up only the red dot, my UHF is no longer able to be turned inane a fue more lights for buttons like hazard and Center diff lock lights are not illuminating.
Due to these issues they will need the car back to take the dash apart again to find what they have done and that and I quote "could be a quick fix or it could take awhile".
So I have no idea what they have done but what ever it was it wasn't good. I will continue to keep you all posted
Sorry if I waffled, it would have been much worse if I had have done it last night hahaha

typical great to see they checked every thing prior to handing car back over id be asking for a new steering wheel as they have obviously damaged the leather, they wont fix that without replacing it, thats why i hate people touching my cars, nine times out of ten they fu** them before they fix them.....Cheers SteveFace lift 150 Prado V6 auto. There is a giant connector in the center column, to the left hand side, near where the AC controls are (behind the panels) where they have probably forgotten to seat it in properly. This connector has a screw to hold the thing in place. You can check this yourself.
Remove the silver trim next to the low range lever. Then remove the silver trim above that (the AC vent is part of this trim. Be careful there is a wire at the back of this). the big connector should then be visible. If this connector is seated properly, then they will have to take the whole center column apart to make sure that all cables are fully connected.
