  • Rusts spots caused by rear door wind deflector clips

I have these rust spots that have been caused by the clips that hold the rear door wind deflector rubbing against the panels (rear quarter and roof) on the body of the car leaving these lines or spots of rust. Would it be worth taking back to Toyota to get them to fix as it seems like their shoddy workmanship that has caused the issue or should I attempt to fix myself?

On another note how can I remove the wind deflector with relative ease as it would seem it is stuck to the rear door by something that is going to strip the paint away in the process. Any hints?

Yes I noticed the clips rubbing before the paint was damaged and repositioned and put some clear
plastic paint protection film there to stop it rubbing. More poor design by Toyota than fitting, my clips
    are also starting to rust.

Bit of a thread hi-jack but I've also noticed one of my bonnet protector clips slipped off the protective rubber bit and had damaged the paint on underside of the bonnet to the point its starting to rust.

I'd be glad of any suggstions on a simple the process to fix that up.

I got the same issue though only on drivers side.

It too is something I need looking at. I reckon a panel beater would be your best bet.
