    Re: deisel vs petrol

Supermarket fuel is rubbish, and I avoid it, though it does help keep us busy here in the workshop.

The amount of cars we have fixed fuel economy, and rough idle/hard cold starts by telling them to fill at a major service station company owned not linked to a supermarket, I wish we could charge for that!

      Re: deisel vs petrol

      Please forgive my ignorance...

Here in the west I believe we have two choices of major supplier, BP in Kwinana and Shell in Fremantle I believe are the only two refinery/filling ports from the ogen. Therefore shopping centre stations would therefore be using one of these fuels correct ? and so would the other major/minors aswell. Am I correct in thinking this ?

I doubt whether the Gulls, Mobils would be trucking loads over from the east for there fuels here. How does it work..... anyone, anyone... Bueller Bueller...

I generally agree with that. Although every now and again I cannot resist.(saved $30)

Normally I go for quality not quantity, but I figure once and a while it doesn't hurt :?

Thanks Dirttracker for the tip. Sounds like those deals where you get no interest for 24 months but if you are late for ONE monthly payment you pay the full amount of interest over the whole period!!! (broken contract)

Yesterday, i bought 217lts diesel - both tanks and two jerry's.

I just checked and I got the 4c (woollies) + 4c (if you spend $5 on a paper and coke) on the whole lot.

              Hi,
Don't believe everything you read. I frequently purchase more than 150 litres & the supermarket discount does apply on the 1st 150 litres. Every time I've done it.

                Re: deisel vs petrol

                Well Guys,
It seems there are a number of different experiences or at least opinions, but lets get the circumstances clear because some posts have broadened it to include all discount purchases.

The original discussion and warning was about the 20 cent fuel discount from Woolies through the liquor dept. Not the 4c + 4c or any other offer.

If some have got this discount with over 150 lts, well done and I am glad for you. For others, I would check before proceeding as you may waste your discount.

                willykj,
I would love to know where you purchase using the discount "frequently" as the discount is very rarely offered. I want some of your action.

                  Re: deisel vs petrol

I always fill at shell, most times just over the 150 and have always received the discount irrespective of a 4cents, 8 cents, or 20 cents when liqurland have had deals. yes it does stop at 150 but because you go over it never cancels the rest, not at shell/coles express anyhow.

Yes NTP!! I rolled into a BP franchise on break, noticed the boards as 1.19 for Diesel and 1.23 for ULP, I had to ask the dude on the other side of the bowser if my eyes were playing up. Nope! he said, cause this is a independant, he lowers his fuel every now and then so it was approx 10c cheaper on that day. I was wrapped, shame I didnt have the dosh to fill her up though haha.. But if this looks like the trend from now on, very glad I got the diesel now NTP!!!

                      Go the D4D's!!
