Yes. Very easy. Undo screw and pull apart. Take old one out, put new one in. Reassemble

Bugger Bali, get out and see Australia before we sell it all to China.
So Prado remote battery has always been replaced with CR 1616 as per manual.
Recently had to replace battery so easy job replaced it -
result was intermittent.
So after some kind words I identified that the CR1616 is 16mm diameter and 1.6mm thick.
Happened to have a CR1620 in the drawer so tried it and bingo all good. CR 1620 is 16mm diameter and 2mm thick.
There must of been a bit of wear in the unit I guess this can be expected after having the vehicle since 2009.

I recently changed the batteries on most of my key remotes. For some reason the CR1616 and similar button cell batteries are very fickle and can test to spec voltage, but either go flat very quickly or even instantly when used, (even though they will test to normal voltage when removed). Even though I have a stock of replacement batteries, it pays to purchase top brand batteries new when you need them. even though battery replacement is easy it is not something you want to do every week.
