Hey guys.
Yeah just joined the forum I have 2 120 prados ones a gxl d4d auto the other is a 120 1kz. I just bought the 1kz which I think I got a pretty good deal it's only a Gx 2005 model manual. It has pretty high ks 420 on the clock all highway and no towing. Service history etc. I paid 7k for it do you think that's a pretty good deal. It's in great condition motor is immaculate. What's the average ks these motors get before needing a rebuild ?

Hi Ross.
I have [sorry we have!] a 2004 with 240K on it and it does not even need an oil top up between services [10k]. I tried to find out what you are looking for but had not discovered this group at that stage. Should have said it is a 1KZ

G'day Ross,

I have a 2003 model GXL with KZ motor. It has done 350K - including towing a caravan (1800kg) over the last few years. I had to replace a cracked head at 348K and the shop that did the job said that There was not much wear in the cylinder and what was there was all even. He said that I should expect to get at least 500k + out of the motor. I have always had the motor fully serviced at 10K intervals and I was told this would have been a major factor in the generally good state of the engine. Kel
