low fuel light

Hi all just wondered where the low fuel light is on my 2003 v6 grande. Doesnt come on when gauge is showing empty and computer says 0. Not run out yet though. Cheers jon

Under the fuel gauge. Sounds like the globe is out. It comes on around 50-70 kms to empty.

Thanks all looks like the led is blown and they are soldered onto the main board. Anyone replaced these?

Mine doesn't come on till the needle is on empty not before it. Like bushbashes picture. Usually only about 15/20L left when it comes on. Maybe you need to get it a bit lower that's unless you have already had it that low. Cheers Steve

If the trip computer says range is 0km, the low fuel light should have come on well before then.

Filled up 177L today after 1174km = 15.1L/100km
Fuel warning light came on at 1085km.
DTE hit 0km at 1139km.

Won't be attempting this feat again, that's for sure.

Does it light up when the ignition is first turned on? Mine does not.

I've got the totally opposite happening. After changing both fuel filters on an '08 D4D, the low fuel light is always illuminated. What could be a possible cause/solution?

Hi I've got lpg as my rear tank and petrol as the tank under the car. Im trying to work out the fuel gauge as when i fill the petrol up it only ever goes to half on the gauge and starts going down from there. Is this normal?

Hi I have the same setup on my 07 GXL, LPG and Unleaded, and I have the same situation, full tank of petrol, and gauge only shows half full. Was told by previous owners that this is normal, as they had to pull the smaller of the two tanks out to put in the LPG tank. So with two standard tanks it would show full, and i'm guessing automatically change to the second tank when the first is empty.
