      Hi Guys

I finally got my a CD manual for the Prado. Part number SC00W1EA has been superceded by SC00W2EA. Price was $88 and I got it from Sci Fleet Toyta at Kitchener Rd Brisbane.

My immediate goal is to understand the electrical wiring of the power outlet in the boot with a view to running it from my auxillary battey located in the engine bay.

It seems possible to use the existing wiring by breaking the battery feed line in the engine bay and taking it from the aux battery. This would save the hassle of running a separate cable with all the attendant problems of penetrating the body, dust sealing, removal of interior panels etc. However the current circuit has a relay that is closed by turning the ignition switch on. I'd like to be able to leave the aux battery running the fridge while the ignition is off and the car locked.

If I get cold feet it might have to be an auto electricians job.

Have a look in the electrical section Ian.

Most guys here tend to prefer running a completely new, much heavier pair of cable (fused of course) from the aux battery to a new socket in the back. The old one can then be used for any other odds and sods but the new - heavy duty - circuit will provide for the fridge for many years to come.

        Cheers

          Chippy,

Thanks for the advice. I need to remind myself periodically to look at previous postings before I ask the question. I realise someone has probably already done it and talked about it.

No worries Ian ... sounds just like my memory.

I was just talking to someone about my fridge wiring yesterday ... otherwise it probably wouldn't have stayed in my head

            Cheers

I tried to get the CD from my local Yota today but they said it was Yota property in WA because WA is a seperate franchise to other states. Is there anyone east that would be willing to copy/purchase and post across for me - I can do direct deposit for payment.

                Squeaky,

I bought one from Newtown Toyota in Welshpool a couple of months back, maybe give them a try.

Thanks Leachy, I'll give them a call.

Edit - picked up the disc today from Newtown, $91, they said there was no policy in WA not to sell to the public. They recon it's just a lack of effort by the other dealers.
