With those weights the standard suspension and towbar should be fine as long as in good condition. And as 404pug said make sure the towball recall has been checked.David (AKA Grumps)
Trying to get away as much as we can with the 2003 GLX 120 Series Prado towing the Jayco Expanda or 5.3 Stacer Seamaster/Merc 90HP.
The Prado build up is in process

Towbar Recall
thanks to 404pug and dagree , ect , I have 2 recall stickers inside front door , dated - 13/10/11 Code No 0631H and - 20/1/14 Code No 3606D , and a sticker on towbar - Max Towbar Capacity 2500kg and Max Load Downward 250kg , so it should be well in the weight range , this original tongue just doesn't look very strong compared to an " ALLIN " OR " Hayman Reece " which had larger flat tongues that I have had on previous cars , I will get my local Toyota yard to write down what were the 2 recalls they had done for the previous owner and check that mine has been done , thanks guys for the promt replies , john
