Hi guys,
My Prado is nearing up its scheduled service at the end of this month. It has done 7K since new and it will be a 6 months service.
I have done a 5000 service at the non-Toyota place as I was towing my tinny occasionally. I felt that changing oil and a filter (using Toyo genuine parts) is no big deal and any place can do.
Now, it's a 6 months service and I was wondering if I should go to Toyota to do this service or continue with my mechanic. What are your thoughts and experience on having the service book stamped by say, Brighton Toyota or by "Joe's Service Centre" (not the real name) stamp? Does it matter? I trust my mechanic and he serviced all my previous cars, no problems there. I know that if I use genuine Toyota parts, there shouldn't be a problem with warranty, so I am told :?
Or should I forget all of the horror stories that I've read here on this site and give my car to one of the Toyota's "factory trained, highly skilled, experienced, etc. etc" technicians to perform their "exceptional" service on it?
Would the "Joe's Service Centre" stamp in the book somehow affect the future resale value of my car if I decide to sell it?
Thank you all in advance for all of the replies.
Cheers
