120 ECU Monitor after 2 failed Engines??

H All,
just to fill you in on my Toyota story over that past few years.
First engine Failure on the Freeway in Perth, Copper Injector issue, apparently common and all my fault, $15K repair.
New Prado D4D, got to 160K and another injector failure on the way to Exmouth in the middle of no where. Again Toyota treated me like a hot potato and another $15K repair.



Now looking for an good Engine ECU monitor so I can see what is going on when driving.

Do you mean an ECU monitor or engine monitoring system?

Ouch, sorry to hear that's one expensive Prado.

I'm no mechanic but what i have done is bought a ScanGuage 2 to monitor temps, boost etc. Bought Toyota Techstream and lead from Ebay to check injector feedback values and other relevant data which i will do every service or if something doesnt sound right. Also ############# knows his stuff and he has in his signature "Please Just check your oil pickup every oil change" and it's for good reason.

Visually inspect the wire pickup screen inside the sump every oil change for any signs of blockage, it's an early warning sign. Mine was blocked and injectors suffering blow by in a Prado i just bough, if i didnt check the pickup and injector values it would of blown too.

So just these things, along with regular maintenance can go a long way.
