Out of interest what model of trans is it? (ie; A343F, A750F etc). Better still can you give us the whole model code off the plate?

Hi everyone,

If you have a Sept 06- Dec 06 plated vehicle, you might have one of the very few hybrid, slapped together pieces of crap with a D4D AND a four speed auto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I definately have a D4D ( have had the injectors replaced ) and it definately only has a four speed auto.(Dec 06 build ).........I got it for a really good price, but because I didnt do my homework ops: ops: ops: I did not know that the 07 upgrade had a five speed auto....otherwise would have waited 2 more months

So the D4D / 5 speed auto theory is dead.........

I would like to see photo eveidence of that one, why would they put a four speed auto behind the D4D one month and then change it the next???? You got it at good price because it probably the old deisel, what bhas replacing the injectors got to do with things.

I think I should stick to riding my dirt bikes. ops: ops: ops: ..went back and had a look at all my papework for the truck.....the invoice says D4D with a 4 speed auto but I re checked the plates and yes boys.....you were right it is indeed a 5 speed auto (trans axle code A750F A02B ) on the plate.

Definately a D4D as it has "Replace injectors - D4D" on the repair invoice from Toyota and is covered in D4D badging and intercooler covers etc........

Has anyone noticed that the "GXL" badges on the tailgate appear to change position from year to year?

A couple of years ago the 120 had the badge above the licence plate holder on the left. Mine is on the right of the tyre and above the centre line.

Maybe, they come without badges and stickers, and some apprentice whacks them on at the dealer.

I got the 3000 T/D sticker on the left rear pillar replaced because it was full of raised bubbles - hardly in keeping with the image that I want to present.

Now the fun begins fitting it out

Silver 2008, D4D auto. Paid $48K and had just gone past 30K on the clock. Practically stock

Had been looking for 4 months. The best I could don on a new was 56000 for a 2008 runout in SA, after playing off three different dealers, or 58000 for a 2009 model. I figured with the money I saved by purchasing a 1 year old I could spend on accessories.

Just out of curiosity did it come with log books by any chance? I am picking that the first owner has had the rattle and had the injectors replaced and is selling it before the rattle returns.

Yes mav, came with full service history. The prado was driven by the General Manager for a country council. Spoke with the council that owned it and the GM had upgraded to an 09. Unfortunately they took the tow bar off and the mats out for his new upgrade otherwise it is stock. Also spoke with the dealer that sold the vehicle and it hasnt had any warranty work done on it.
