    Very nice idea Oscar...

Where do you work mate? I'm guessing you have a decent workshop at your disposal...

Got any links or pics of the RX2? Are you on AUSROTOR? I'm a bit of a rotor man myself. Had an RX808 until recently. Was featured in Fast Fours and Rotaries earlier this year plus Perth Street Car mag.

            Hi Mitch.

I run a wrecking yard + mechanical workshop here in Sydney. Plus a spare parts shop so I have a few things to my disposal It also helps that my mate is a fitter and turner for all my fab work, my other mates an Auto Elec, and my brother is also a mechanic.

I was on ausrotary but its full of dreamers, thieves, and keyboard warriors. Haven't been on there in years. Rx2 will have a photoshoot once the diff is fixed so I will send you the links to that. Go the Rotors aye

            Hi Kenta.

Nothing worth putting on here but I'm slowly getting all the parts ready - just haven't had the time with the workload lately to start pulling it apart.

Plus 2 kids, a mortgage, renovations, blown diff in the Rx2 haven't left me with much disposable funds. I will however keep you all updated. I have just posted in the My Rig Build Up thread so any updates will go through there.

I don't think so. Oscar drowned his Prado on a PP day trip: http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...l=1#post245420 and subsequently sold it.

Word has it that he now has another Prado, but I don't it has a V8.

Oh yea. Were not really fussed. Surprised yes but fussed no.
The car is fine, Zero electrical problems and Ive had the carpet out a couple of times and its clean as a whistle on the floorpan.
I guess if Oscar wasnt on PP we wouldnt know.
And cos he was on PP we do now Know! Knowledge is better than No knowledge.
I rang him last night and he told me the insurance company fixed it all for him, and if you refer to the Link from Williade it seems there was 12.5K spent on the repairs so whats a bloke meant to do?
Shall I cry or be thankful that it was repaired properly?
Its not like it was sunk in Nolans Brook or even worse - on the beach.
I would get total satisfaction though if Oscar was to give me a copy of the repair statement from the insurance company though.
Having records of that kind of stuff is important to me, so Im hoping Oscar can go thru his paperwork for me and see what he can find.

                            Um yes it does.

Maybe I should do a V8 conversion on it?

I have just converted a mates surf with a 1uzfe 4.0 v8. If you are handy with tools you can have the whole conversion done for approx 2-3K. Motors are only $600-800 to buy so if you blow one its a cheap replacement. 190kw v8, his averages 11L per 100km with 33" tyres on and a big lift. its the 2nd one of these conversions ive done, we married it up with a 1kz diesel gearbox, great rig drives better than my prado!
2012 4dr JK wrangler, 3.5" AEV lift, AEV mags, 35" muddies, front/rear arb bars, tjm sliders, pioneer platform and some other goodies

Hey bud I k ow it's an old post but I was reading the 120 prado v8 conversion once again, and I seen at the end of the post, you had mentioned about do a 1uz conversion on a hilux and mating it to a 1kz gearbox,, I'm wondering if you recall and of the details on this conversion,, ie: auto or manual box, engine mount issues, was it still 4wd,, any information would be greatly appreciated, as I don't really want to part with my old 120 and have been looking at conversions for a long time,,, feel free to email if it is easier for you [email protected] thanks for your time
