im of to Queensland tomorrow but this morning i noticed that something has gone amiss in my aircon main motor, its making a sound as if a bearing or something like that has shat itself inside.im just wanting to find out can i simply remove the belt and have it repaired when i get back [2 weeks] without having this causing any other trouble,it looks as though the belt dosent affect anything else.also if anyone has replaced one of these before some sought of costing that i may be up for would be good. shane.

Re: aircon belt removal
The belt only runs the aircon so it's ok to remove. Tension is removed at the idler pully.
It's the other two vee belts that run the vitals (alt/fan/water pump)
If you can isolate the noise to the clutch mechanism you may be in luck as it can be removed from the front without dismantling the pump.
