          Re: The things you had to fix on your Prado

          Discovered after I purchased my Prado the passenger seat belt warning light and hazard lights didn't work. Pulled the trims of for a look and guess what they were both unplugged. Plugged back in and all good. Other than this no problems so far fingers crossed.
          2004 GXL V6 and loving it.

                    Re: The things you had to fix on your Prado

                    - Brake master cylinder recall (no Charge) 50,000km
                    - Noisy Power Window (FDS) window regulator bolts loose. (No charge)
                    - Dashboard dimmer inoperative 80,000km
                    - My footrest also broke at 175,000km. Plastic fittings aren't strong enough. Anyway, installed some Sandgrabba's and it holds the footrest securely in place now without having to buy a new one.
                    - Pulley idler bearings dry, repacked with grease 180,000km.
                    - New rotors 185,000km

                      Re: The things you had to fix on your Prado

                      2005 GXL diesel, 91000km:

                      *Brake recall campaign;
                      *CD player (warranty). Skips/freezes when playing MP3's (Fujitsu crap). Replacement is doing the same :evil:
                      *Brakes pulsing at 65000km. Discs machined and were good for a while, but starting to do it again. Probably need replacing this time;
                      **Auto Trans shift lever detent pawl broken at 70000km. Still yet to fix that one. I have NEVER owned a car that has had this sort of problem :evil:

                      I'm very happy with my car. Except for the cheap-arsed gear selector. That should just NOT break. My wife had an auto Corolla which we put almost 500,000km on, with not a single problem (apart from reconditioning the motor).

                        Brake pad and machine rotors at 80000

                          Re: The things you had to fix on your Prado

                          Front nearside fog light replaced as it was starting to let water in

                          Offside rear seat trim clips disappeared and trim was flapping around so a simple replacement

                          Radio/CD head unit replaced as when talking on my mobile with bluetooth an incoming call would disconnect the call I was on - the replacement unit also does the same............

                          Drive shaft "clonk" re-greased prop

                          The original Panasonic battery discharged completely very recently and up until then was functioning perfectly

                          Mine is three years old this November with 70+K on the clock and has been driven in pretty much every terrain possible

                          Personally very pleased

                            Re: The things you had to fix on your Prado

                            2003 GXL diesel: 161,000 k's.
                            Driver seat cushion (warranty)
                            Brake booster re-call.
                            A/C re- vacuumed and regassed at new. (whankers fault at pre delivery)

                            Nothing apart from the normal servicing, of which I do most of, as the Toyota servicing only consists of oil and filter change and kick the tyres, and maybe the 6 nipple grease. (approx.$240-00)

                              :arrow: A/C stopped working (7mths after above) relay needed replacing
                              :arrow: Driver's side sunvisor would only come down to one position, replaced with second hand one

                                Here is the photo of mine before it was fixed. Only made the photo of one side, the other side has similar crack.

                                There also was a crack under second batterry tray (and I got piranha battery tray). All fixed now and it's probably one of the cheapest repairs I have ever done :lol:
