  • Any way to fix a floppy sun visor?

My drivers side sun visor has gradually been dropping lower over the last 12 months.
It has now got to the point that it is horizontal, about 5cm from the roof!
Just right to cut the top of my head off.
Every time I push it back up it slowly drops back down, even on smooth roads
How do you tighten it up, other than putting some tape around were it clips to the roof?
It is getting to the stage that it will come right down and the only way I will keep it up
is to tek screw it to the roof
Please don't suggest ripping if off and put a big PP sticker across the front of the windscreen.
The wife would kick me out of home as she is sure I love my Prado more the her

Just a few ideas that may help.
If your going to do that get 2 of them from a 90 series,(if they fit) they don't have the same floppy problem as the 120

have you checked if you can take the visor off, I think there is a screw or bolt in the hinge that you can tighten up, not to sure though.

        Thanks Croozza

The floppyness is were the rod goes into the sun visor.
It is somehow molded onto the rod. There are no screws or bolts to tighten up.
It's a real pain in the

I haven't the same issue with my Prado or not so I've noticed but if you can remove the visor from the supporting rod you may get an improvement by scuffing up the rod with some coarse sand paper or similar so that there is more friction between the visor and the rod?????????????? Don't remove any metal though or it will get worse. Locktite would definately work but then you need to pick a position you are happy with!

No need to rub your rod with sandpaper.....I can sell you a tablet that fixes floppyness....and it's a damn sight cheaper that $320.

Unlike NT I was too weak to resist.... it's the beer
