  • Hi AMTS. Good reading, got a bit more than I bargained for searching for bash plates. Well done. Would also be keen to invest in a set of these plates if they come out in the ballpark price mentioned. The 3rd plate to cover past the box sounds like a good option too.

    Cheers

    • Andrew, these are starting look great! If you need a D4D test bed close to work I would be more than happy to make myself and car available.
      You know where to find me!!

        I hope so too. I've gone this far, the price better be good!

        This is on the back burner for now. However, the 3rd bashplate would be easier to do on the diesels than on the V6.

        Why didn't I think of that?! I need a D4D to do the sump plug location. Already arranged with switched but it was going to be night time. Would prefer a daytime inspection where possible. I'll come see you tomorrow.

        As a general update, with the development of MickL's diff drop kit, I am making an optional diff cover which will allow for diff drops. The standard cover will be flat. The optional cover will be scalloped with the rest of the bashplate not requiring any spacers. I'll post the concept pics once our work network connection is restored.

                      Hi Andrew
                      Any update from the fabricator as yet? Think we are all waiting for the numbers to drop.

                        • Maybe worth considering if they are this busy to not be able to supply a quote, what is it going to be like to get product out of them?

                          I know all too much what it is like to be too busy to quote or even supply anything

                          • Thank you all for your patience. Well, here are the numbers that we're all waiting for....

                            $360 for
                            - both bashplates to cover the front diff, sump and transmission;
                            - sump & diff cover plates;
                            - zinc plated and powder coated 3mm steel;
                            - all replacement high tensile bolts and washers.
                            - the required spacers for those with V6 engines (due to a need to clear 2 brackets directly under the radiator cross member)

                            Lead time is approx 4 weeks from order. Delivery can be arranged at cost for those interstate. Allow about $20-30 avg price and depends on where you are. Free pickup from Ed Parks or Mawson Lakes.

                            I am about to finalise my design tonight and then get an actual steel prototype manufactured. It will then go into production.

                            I think this is the last updated list of those interested and there's been a couple more since then. Could you please confirm again if you wish to go down this path? A deposit would be necessary to "doubly confirm".

                            Hope that this is all satisfactory
