  • Securing what is mine, not 'theirs'

    Hi all,

Am sick of all the budding gardeners around the country 'borrowing' my shovel without permission. I have lost 2 so hopefully this will slow them down...
Galvanised chain, brass lock, primer paint and it doesn't rattle. Will give them a hard time if I catch anyone near it..
Have used this shovel to get a LC 100 series out of a sandpit and also for the coals of the campfire

    Cheers,
    Pearlie

    Great idea Pearlie !

That might slow down some garden gnomes....

    Well done.

I do a similar thing though my shovel/axe are mounted on the spare. I have put the chain inside some big heat shrink. Stops any and all rattles and you don't need to worry about scratching paintwork.

People these days just help themselves. Better to lock up what is yours to make sure it stays as yours.

You don't even need to unlock it if you have snow on the roof.

saw that on a Patrol the other day and thought that was a great idea.
Might have to look at something similar, I have always wanted a long handle mouted permanently on the car
