  • How do you get into the fridge ontop of the drawers ?

    Hi ALL

About to take delivery of some drawers where the ENGEL will sit on top. I've seen the premium fridge rails that lower the fridge however the thing is 35kg and I'm loathe to just add more weight to the car. I've been toying and researching steps that slide into the gooseneck of the towbar ie: a platform that can be swung out to stand on or simply a single "step" to stand on...

Living in Alice Springs means I just cant pop down to a Bunnings and grab a step. I've seen varying ones on e-bay though I refuse to pay $130 for a 2 step aluminium ladder :-)

Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated :-)

    Cheers..pete in Alice

Yah I've seen some of these fold up devices, could be interesting if placed on the sand ? :-) Minster for War and Finance may not appreciate toppling over :-) I might have to wait for the drawers to turn up and get some 50mm2 gal tube and see what I can knock up...

Stand on the bumper step.... That's what we used to do anyways... Hence the reason we built the new system in the back of MUMSRIG with the fridge lower down...

Just bought another one of these today actually, first one from camec a year ago was sweet in sand or dirt. So much easier to grab a beer from the fridge Got flogged in fraser tho when after long day left it out at eli dammit Picked up another one on way home at port from BCF or Boots cant remember only to have it buckle everytime we stood on it. Anyway there IS a difference with these things Make sure u get one that LOCKS in Sorry for my lack of full stops.. sure am addicted to that iphone. NEw one from Camec is solid. Test in store by srtanding on edges, corners, therefore if u break your ankle u can sue. Wouldnt want that to happen in the bush hey. Whens windows gonna pay a double space with a fullstop?? My missus is four foot and the step works for her. She can still reach her goon sack.

Should add $25 from camec. As pictured in Amtz post, or very similar. Folds up flat in a sec to fit in drawers. Also handy for working under the hood. And as a step up to the rear bumper step without pulling a hammie!

Have you thought about a dropslide? Have a look at the one I made here http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...-trailer/page5 They aren't cheap if you buy one, but its an option you may consider.

                  Cheers Andrew

I'm using the platinum drop slide, great for my vertically challenged
                    partner

Not cheap though as written above.

                    Cheers

Just get wifey to hurl it up and pull it down. She will soon authorise any device you recommend.

Just say, "we need the platinum drop slide because it is an OH&S issue. But due to the weight of the slide, we'll need to upgrade the suspension."

A great argument to use to get two mods approved. I knew it was a good idea to log onto this forum.
