      Hey Justo,

I had a play today and the only plug to take the cable is already being used for something else. There is a spare plug but not the same to match the cable.
I took the other plug out and tried the cable but nothing happened so i may be doing something wrong.

      Anyone else have any luck.

        Video Input

        Hi

There will be an existing cable into the 26028 headunit as this is the 3.5mm audio input that is found in the glovebox.

You will need to unplug this aux cable and plug in the new one that you have purchased.
In addition, you will need to earth an additional wire that tells the headunit that the handbrake is on (which then displays the video). If this wire is connected to earth permanently, then you will be able to display video at any time when selecting the AUX in.

I will post a few pictures of the wire that I am referring to shortly.

Some things that I have found are

You must set NTSC video with your device that is playing the video (as this is what the headunit will accept)
You are able to select NTSC on devices such as the IPOD Video and the Nokia N95.

The N95 has excellent video playback quality.

The headunit will not switch the video mode on if you dont have a video playback cable / device connected at power on. It seems to detect if a video device is attached when you turn the headunit on. I have had to stop at the lights and turn the car off and back on for the video to be be detected.

When using the N95 as a video playback device, the bluetooth connection to the headunit for calls doesnt work. This is a phone issue, not a headunit issue. Therefore, I am going to purchase an IPOD Video for the video playback feature and use the phone as a phone.

photos of the ground wire cable to follow shortly.

        Regards
        Brett

Thanks blw that would be very helpfull.

I thought i was missing something when i saw the only plug the cable would fit into was already being used.

I will pass the information over to Justo once i see your pics.

            Pics

The green wire is the one you need to connect to ground.

This Adapter cable shows where the original cable would be unpluged and then the new cable connected to the head unit. The green wire is connected to the plug that is connected into the head unit.

              Success at last

Thanks to Justo we pulled both units out today but we couldnt get Justo`s unit to accept a auxillary input.

Mine on the other hand worked a treat, not only did we get picture but it has a menu to adjust all your colour settings for the picture
The sound is full stereo in all speakers and sounds great.

In the end we didnt need the other cable because the unit already had an earth wire attatched to the pin we were using 8)

Thanks again to Justo and of coarse this will only be used whilst the car is stationary. 8)

                            Hey Justo

Shame you don't live in Brissie, I'm an electronics Tech, working for Channel nine, so as you can imagine I know a little about video!!! lol.

If you still have no luck with the cable you can send it to me and I'll have a go with my test equipment and see if I can get anywhere.

Now there's an offer that's hard to refuse.. 8)
We hooked it up the same as mototrim's and it still refused to work. I'm guessing there's someway we need to get the unit to switch to aux. I was hoping the Disc button would have done it the same as the later units.!

McGyver would be envious with some of your conversions

Have jsut received my 2008 Prado (VX Petrol) recently.
The Satnav head unit number is B9010.
It does not have a built in reverse camera.
Am wondering if anyone knows if this unit (B9010) has the nececessary plugs at the back to connect an Eclipse BEC 106 and maybe video as well.

                                Thanks muchly.
