From memory, wasn't sure if you change the direction of inlet outlet tubes 200 suited
where I was going to mount it.

200 seemed more readily available, easier to get filters and possibly filters were cheaper?

No tool required to change the filter.

Inlet outlet diameter of ports made it easy to use same size as existing hose,
hose fits inside of port, no need for adaptors.

    Cheers

Any reason why people are using the ProVent200 unit and not the ProVent150?

The ProVent product brochure says that the 150 is suitable for vehicles up to 200kW, which should be more than adequate for a D4D

Basically because it is virtually as big, costs the same, flows less overall, and has a smaller filter medium and thus lifespan. Having experimented with the 100, the 150 and the 200, the 200 is a huge leap over the other two in flow, low restriction, capacity, lifespan and value.

But sure the 150 would be fine for your application.

Thanks Leigh and Greg for your help. Not having a lot of mechanical knowledge, i research a lot before doing things i don't understand.

As much as it would be nice, I have found I just can't know it all...

Thanks for all the PM's and the odd threatening one, but this is being handled way above me. Contact Mann and Hummel directly for more info, I'm just an agent out to spread the simple truth.

How long should it be before i have oil in the provent?. I've done about 1000kms since fitting it and there is abit of oil in the inlet of the can, but none in the bottom of the can. Here's hoping i've got a healthy engine it's done just short of 200,000kms changing oil and filter every 5k.

                Hi Azzss,
200,000kms, I am very curious to know if you have changed your injectors yet or done any other major preventative maintenance activities with your Prado? I change my oil and filter every 5K as well, it has served me well in the past with other diesel engines. Sorry a bit off topic I know..
                Cheers

Fitted a small ball valve and tube to the drain. Opened after coming back from a couple of weeks of touring the country side ( someone has to do it) and got a couple of teaspoons of good old black gold. That's now not going into my freshly cleaned inlet manifold.
How long will the filter last in the real Provent?
Also the valves on the side are getting noisy again. Will look at plugging them on the weekend.

Found the noise. Not from the check valves as first thought. It is the bracket holding the unit. The motor shakes and just enough to bump the Provent in its plastic bracket. Plased a piece of tube behind the bracket and noise stopped. Now to work a permanent fix for the plastic bracket.

Yeh, ran the hoses around the back of the cowling and looks neat and factory like.
I bought the valve for the drain from you the other week but am unsure how to plumb that one up at the moment, might buy a separate hose and put a manual valve on it as others have done.

Thought I'd put up a pic as there isn't much space for these with a duel battery kit and 2nd fuel filter..
