I could bolt one on and SWMBO would drive past it every day for about 6 months before saying "Have you done something to the car?" And, of course, I would reply "Nah, always been that way luv."

No plans at this stage for a 150 bar, I am into this one for a lot of coin at this stage, maybe if I sell a few and get my head above water I might look at it. Lots of other people make good bars for the 150 including Kaymar with theirs going all the way to the wheel arch, pretty hard to compete against those blokes.Originally posted by berniebgf View PostWhens the 150 bar going to be ready?

So a few people have been asking me for pictures of the rear bar set up with twin wheel and what it looks like, so here it is.

There is enough room between the tyres to go to a 33" tyre if I anyone wants to go down that path.
And this is all you can see of the tyre in the rear view mirror, not very much at all.

Hi Andrew,
Couple of questions please.
You mentioned once you fit one, you will have a better understanding of fitting time and procedure compared to yours which went on and off making it. Any info on that? ie morning, half day, day etc.
Also do you have or supply a template for the exact cut location as thats pretty permament
Cheers

I haven't fitted one yet, I had a hold up on a few parts, hopefully next week if everything works out I should fit the first one. The cut is a straight line, so not sure if I will produce a template or just give a measurement, either way I will suggest people cut it a bit long as you need a gap in the end, its easy to trim a bit more off after its fitted, much harder to add a bit if you get it wrong. I think I have about a 15mm gap, so a bit to play with.
I am expecting at least a half day for a full fit, with wiring and a few bits and pieces.

Thanks Andrew. Let us know how you go.
Just trying to work out the total cost then, would it be something like the following
Bar + 2 arms - $2250
Freight - $? (How heavy is the bar and dimesions to work out freight?)
Painting - $?
Fitting - ~$400 (guess)
Total -$
Cheers

Weight of the bar with the 2 swing arms is pretty spot on 60kg when I weighed mine, fitted weight will be a bit less as you remove around 5kg of weight for fitting assuming you already have the Toyota Towbar.
For freight it will need to go on a pallet, at least that is my plan at this point as once over 40kg most places wont deliver unless you can forklift it, it might be possible to split it up into multiple packages but that's going to be a pain from my experience and probably work out more expensive.
So for freight it will need to be collected from a freight depot unless you have a forklift at home, I am working on 75kg all up including pallet, but the weight will not matter much as it will get charged by volume. Dimensions for freight should be 190 x 80 x 36. The pallet will make almost no difference to the volume as the stubs will go through to the bottom of the pallet.
It took us approx. 6 hrs to fit the first one, I might get a bit quicker than that as I was bit disorganised . I will look at charging $350 to fit one up, but I also save a bit of work wrapping and getting it to freight if I fit it.
For someone fitting it themselves, just allow a full day and you should be fine, it would be easier with a mate to help, the bar is not to bad to lift weight wise but its a bit awkward.
Painting, I suggest anyone wanting it painted gets it done at their end as it will reduce the chance of scratching during freight, I would expect to pay similar to getting a bulbar colour coded, so $220 - $250 ish, but that would depend entirely on your spray painter.
