Looking good, Baggs! Are you able to give an indication of drawer widths, and fridge space width yet?

I like the looks of that. Might think of retiring my current set-up.

Sorry mate, a little joke that didn't fly.

I have been looking at this sort of thing for a while. There seems to be a lot of composite products around now.

Monopan is gaining in popularity for construction of caravans, campers, pantechs, etc. Honeycomb sandwich. Very light and strong.

Dotmar Uniboard is another with good wraps. They say its a marine ply alternative and can be worked in the same way.

Baggs - size it for the 60L engel and that will give people plenty of options. As far as I have found out, pretty much any fridge 60L or below would fit in that area if you go on Engel sizing.

Is there a slide out table for the right side?

I liked the idea of being able to add a section and lock down with cam locks when required.

For me as our prado is a every day car, fridge on left ( its always there now), then the option to have no draw to right, one draw or to add the second draw on top of the first would be perfect for me.

I have been going to build rear set of draws and have found some great ideas here. I might wait your designs look good.

                    Keep up the great work.

What about leaving the back open behind the fridge, and perhaps a little bit more breathing space either side of it?

                      Should give enough ventilation then...

Yes the rear is vented and the width is allighned with the waeco slider....all of this is still at my build level...ive no problems on previous drawers allowing cooling to be efficient.

As requested earlier please feel free to be critical. ...however if you criticize please offer contructive comments on why and what you would do....this whole process is a one off....if it goes further it will be for the minority on request as a budget approach.

The problem is not enclosing the fridge, it's restricting air supply. Well, at least for those with fan assist.

Perhaps some partially cut cutouts to align with the inlet and outlet of the airflow on popular fridges would be do-able. Then the owner can push out whichever is needed to improve airflow.

Does this panel material have thermal insulation properties? It might be a better idea to allow ventilation and tighten the clearances if so.

How much customisation will be on offer? I kinda like the mid fridge idea. We use a Thumper battery on the passenger side close to the cargo barrier, could this be accommodated?

To add additional storage box you could have a series of pins on the left side of the box that would locate into the side wall for the fridge. Sit the box into place, slide it to the left to lock into the fridge wall then two over center locks on the right side to lock it down. Easy to add and remove when not needed.

Just another idea to make the unit expandable depending on the needs at the time.

I guess it can all be thought out prior and I cant see why a thumper can be placed in a drawer or slipped in from the top....its a case of showing me what you want if this all happens and we will go from there...yes the venting expressed from yourself and roo are valid...the product panels are very insulated....this is definatly a plus and a negative....ive got a waeco and to allow clearence for natural push pull circulatuon by the fan is a must....the rear has to have some decent venting indeed...gitta get airflow happening....once the build thread starts taking shape then you the forum can decide if ya want one....at this stage im not counting on it but want to share it in case.
