  • lokka lock rite diff lock

has anyone installed a lokka lock-rite rear diff lock, thinking of getting 1, just wondering if anyone has installed 1 lately, i know someone here has had a detroit locker in, just putting the feelers out for some experiences, i drove a hilux with 35s years ago with a rear lock rite and it was a weapon, also had a welded front diff, which made turning a bit of a challenge, the rear locker was pretty noisey when turning corners, maybe it wasnt set up properly, but you just had to adjust ya driving style when cornering. cheers samo

I have one in the front of my Mav and love it. It does make the steering a little heavier but it's unstoppable and way better than an air locker. As it's always locked under power, I can crawl up anything and not get stuck. If I had an air locker, I'd get stuck, stop, engage locker, drive etc. Most people bag them but I think it's great. I have a tightened LSD in the rear so that combo gets me anywhere.

I have one of these http://www.richmondgear.com/powertrax/lockright.html

I've heard the Detroits unlock/lock much smoother than the lockrights, maybe a better choice for the rear.

These guys should be able to help http://www.rocky-road.com/powertrax.html

I wouldnt recommend one for an AWD vehicle at all. I had one in the front of my Lux for years and loved it. If the Prado was a part timer itd already have one. But basically imo they suck in the rear of any vehicle and wouldnt be suitable for teh front of an AWD.
