  • EGT Gauge install...

    Hi all,

I have read alot of talk bout the positioning of the egt sensor before and after the turbo. Im undecided as to which way i will go, but am leaning more toward the after..being a lazy male and all!!

piccys helped me immensely when i installed a boost controller, and boost gauge.Anyone help me out with some piccys??

    Thanx....tubs

    Re: EGT Gauge install...

Hi Tubs (is he local?) - Sorry couldn't resist a League of Gentlemen joke

If you want an accurate reading of your engine's EGT then the only way to fit the probe is before the turbo in the manifold. The temperature difference across the turbo is dependant on a few variables ie how much heat energy the turbine is taking from the exhaust gas. Putting the probe after the turbo is only a "best guess" result.

This is where I fitted mine

Drill the manifold (9mm drill) and tap 1/8 nptf with the engine idling to blow out the swarf. I used a 90 degree drill.

    Regards

    Adrian
