What are the mounting attachments like? We have these in our work Troopies and everyone of them rattles, squeaks and ultimately looses the screws and falls down.Dave

I have done about 13000km's with no issues. About 300km's of that was off road.Originally posted by Bushbasher View PostWhat are the mounting attachments like? We have these in our work Troopies and everyone of them rattles, squeaks and ultimately looses the screws and falls down.
Surely you can still run down the A pillar. You would have to disconnect the airbag first before working around that area but I could be wrong.Originally posted by Jester View PostI have a GXL with Option Pack 1 which has the side airbags, does it recommend where to run cables if this is the case?Winston.

Running cables down the A pillar with side airbags is no problem at all, I did it in my Grande for the BlackVue power cable. Just make sure your cables run adjacent to the airbags and not over them."Sure it’s quiet, for a diesel, but that’s like being well-behaved… for a murderer."- Jeremy Clarkson

I also have a similar arrangement to Homer, but have the Icom mounted in the standard radio cavity, instead of surface mounting, I have a Barrett HF remote head recessed into the side of the unit were the draw is and have mounted my digital voltmeter and selector switch for the batteries recessed into the side near the lights. As above no problem running cables just run them using the existing cabling run, clips etc. Be careful of the trim clip retainers in the pillar, take them out and attach to trim before replacing trim else you might push the retainers through and lose them in the body work!
