Grande Airbag Retaining after a Lift

Marc, I have tried this and while it does deflate the airbags, I found the residual pressure was still too high to allow the airbag to be safely lifted off it's seat.

Excellent
Now, I was thinking about the fitting.
Instead of pulling the airlines why not try this:
Set the car to high setting.
Prop up the chassis with stands.
Set to low.
The air should be dumped completely because the sensor cant reach the low sensor input.
Turn off ignition.
Fit the spacers.
Jack up from under the diff to raise the wheels off the gorund.
Turn on the ignition.
Select high.
The car should jack itself back to the correct height.
Remove stands and drop down on jack.
Would that work?

Nice work, pity I'm too far away to assist with the trial fit. Can't wait to fit a pair to my car and test them out.

Guest repliedPicked these babies up today.
Need to trial fit them and work out the bolt lengths. Then off to anodising.
I'm also trying my hand at making the SST to see if they can be done cheaper. Obviously I'm not making them myself as for those who already have the SST, it looks kinda complex where it snaps together and the 2 halves pivot to open up and go around the tube, etc.

It is a permanent solution, especially with the cross drilled retaining bolt to ensure the bottom pin remains captive.

Hey Peter,
Yeah i'll get the spacers etc from AMTS and go that way I reckon, I was on the beers n' red when I typed that last one, i'd prefer the Airbag Man setup but the cost is gonna get me there. You guys think the spacers is a permanent fix for the problem?? Don't wanna get out caught again.
Lenny.

Lenny, good to hear your rig is back. Are you still going to get some spacers or just go for longer airbags?

Hey there,
Well got me 120 back this arvo, nearly 2 weeks its been, although the parts had to come from Japan, that top circlip and the busted airline I spose it was, so big lesson learnt for me...stoked to have my toy back eh, have to go easy on the articulating till I get some $$$ to do the Airbag Man thing.

Guest repliedWill do, Jeff and Shan.
The dealer replied yesterday as he received 1 SST from Sydney. He was shocked at how much the SST was for the part he was looking at. The rest from Japan will be arriving soon.

I'll take one too please AMTS, along with the 2 spacers mate and i'll forward some dollars your way when your ready, my 120 went in today, airbag looks ok but airline gona take a coupla days to get here, be nice if they washed it for me
I mentioned him ordering the SST for me with the part number PeterPilot gave suggested so it will be interesting to see if he comes up with it, dropped in a sixy of Coronas and a lime so hopefully that might soften the blow later.
