Re: Suspension Measurements 2
Yeah real happy.
Will see how much it drops after it has settled in.
Might try to get some photo's of it and post them up.

Re: Suspension Measurements 2
Hi All
New to PP and after looking at site, just done my 1st upgrade. Installed Lovell springs (TFS-118 Front, TRR-119 Rear) and Bilstein (BE5-A712 Front, BE5-A713 rear) - with 50mm lift, measurements before/after- with less 1/4 tank fuel
FL 745 >>> 790
FR 745 >>> 795
RL 775 >>> 835
RR 780 >>> 845
They want me to take back after 1,000kms after settling in to check - sooo much better than standard

ARB Deluxe bullbar
ARB rated towing package
Have just installed raised Kings (KTFR-101, KTRR-102) and Bilsteins (BE5-A712, BE5-A713).
Heights (measured vertically from bottom of rim to wheel arch) pre- and post-lift
Front R 735mm -> 795mm L 735mm -> 795mm
Rear R 778mm -> 828mm L 778mm -> 828mm
Overall vehicle height to top of roof rails (50l petrol in the tank) = 1.95m

Re: Suspension Measurements 2
ring the arb store you got them from and have a chat to them or better still take the vehicle down to them and see what they say, if they do the right thing you should get a favourable outcome. cheers samo

Re: Suspension Measurements 2
Question re. sagging springs: My rear OME springs -895- have sagged unevenly . They have done 17000 km including 11000 km on recent CSR trip. The LHS rear has sagged more than the RHS and this was apparrent before the trip. I tend to leave the 2nd tank full so there is the battery and the tank on that side. LF down from 795 to 785;RF down from 795 to 790- both acceptable. For the rears the LH is down from 813 to 793 ]bad!] while the RH has gone UP from 810 to 820!!! -possibly because the LH is down 20mm- unacceptable. The question is: is this a warranty issue? OR, since I am soon to put some polyairs in should I just put a bit more in the lhs OR stick a spacer in. If the latter, where do I get them? other than that I have been very happy with this set up with the new Nitrocharger shocks. When you look at the car from the front it looks lopsided. Neil

Re: Suspension Measurements 2
Old suspension measurements with a Sov bar and near MT tanks
FL =738mm
FR = 740mm
RL = 770mm
RR = 774mm
Fitted OME 884s to front, 895s to rear, with Nitro shocks all round
FL =815mm
FR = 815mm
RL = 825mm
RR = 825mm
The most notable difference on a short trip into town was the reduction in body roll
Dual battery goes in tomorrow

Originally posted by cam_3I've been reading all the height measurements but I’m particularly interested in the droop measurements some people have posted.
However I’m a bit confused as Double_D posted a RR/RL measurement of 850/855 and said only 20mm droop in the rear. Another post had a rear measurement of 860 and someone said there wouldn't be much down travel left in the shocks.
What is confusing me is my rear is around 850mm and I have a lot more droop than 20mm. Perhaps I’m not understanding droop or how to measure it. I lifted a wheel off the ground on a track and measured from the bottom of the rim through the centre to the wheel arch and subtracted my normal flat ground value and got a figure around 125mm. Am I measuring wrong? What is a normal amount of droop at an average rear height of say 820?
I have OME 896 springs with 60004 shocks. I will measure again and post exact measurements when I get a chance.
Sorry my measurements were at the shock, not at the wheel... so at the shock I only had 20mm left of downtravel... with the TD I have 80mm, this would equal a lot more at the wheel when flexed up.

Forgot to add, that you can change the front strut without touching the steering arm or removing the sway bar and bash plate.
Update on the upgrade. So far done a shiteload of driving on it:
Highway driving is good - fair bit less body roll, slightly smoother ride. Touch more wind noise.
Offroad - a lot more comfy, even the wife and kids noticed straight away the difference, wife has a bad back so she whinges a bit
No more issue with dips or crests at speed. Corrugations = a lot less banging around and less movement of the vehicle on the track.
On/offroad towing - a shedload better.
All in all, a very happy upgrade path. Should have done it a lot earlier!

Re: Suspension Measurements 2
Well after putting in the new rear springs on the weekend, going for a decent drive and getting a wheel alignment I'm at the following figures:
180 Litres of Fuel and Fridge in back.
Front-820mm
Rear-830mm
Considering a 25mm spacer in the back now :?

Hey mate,Originally posted by 120D4DG'day RustyTruck.Originally posted by RustyTruckDown to 810mm in the front after a good drive
Im jealous of your front lift - ive just have the OME medium and you've got a good 30mm on me!!
Ive also got the ARB deluxe bar and was wondering how you find the UHF antenna works with the bracket?. Cant see myself putting the stick on the side wing like im being told but apprently the elevated feed shakes that much on the 120 that it will fail?
Look forward to any feedback you may have on this set-up.
Cheers
Rappy.
Yeh mate, I couldnt be happier with the front now. Just waiting for my rear to turn up this week and I will slip them in. By the way, I have the same coils which I have just installed in the front for sale, brand new :wink: I ordered two pairs
ops:
As for the UHF, works well. I was going to weld a tab on there along with two more light tabs ontop of the bar but haven't found a paint that will match and really have other things I want to do to the car first.
Not to sure if you mean the aerial will fail or the mount? Drop me a PM mate.
Cheers
