  • i checked this morning on level ground...the front is definatly lower than the rear above the tyres cavity with the spacers in and full mods up front...hope this helps..
As for the ride ...ive had mine for a few months and have travelled the Strez and Oon tracks a little....

    900lbs front and rear springs
    Foam cell Shocks
40psi around town is very firm with bugger all side roll
38psi is more compliant around town...
36psi is near perfect for super arm chair comfort on road....
28-31psi on dirt is smooth as silk

As for suspension travel?...its a lot!....wooptidoos and ruts are just soaked up without bottoming out or topping out that ive noticed...I accidently hit a dog fence grid at speed with trailer up near mt hopeless and near got fully airbourne....near crapped my pants as i was towing and had the family onboard.....when we came back down it was like being on a big fibreglass boat without the jarring and it still did not bottom out....STUPID OF ME I KNOW BUT IT WAS AN ACCIDENT...and the 120 just soaked it right up...

We have all been in a few heavily modified 4x4s in our time havent we?....as for the Ironman gear......time will tell...so far so good...rides super plush but firm with great travel....great price and solid looking components...

I would be only too happy to show anyone in aelaide the ride it gives...

    • Regarding the spacer or no-spacer discussion:
I am running the ironman lift kit since roughly two years / 40000km on my 2007 D4D including the spacers.
      See my post from 09-03-2011.
I had after the installation 55mm drop at the front, which most probably increased a bit over time
Dual battery and Sov bar, no winch.

BTW they still sell the kit for less than $800 on their website.

does this mean you had 55mm drop in height after they settled at the front Michael? did you do a measure after you had them fitted? and a measure recently? im getting mine out on friday but would hate for them to settle a lot and end up putting them back in... cheers Nigel

        • Best that you get the spacers out if it has the potential to destroy the shocks and then put them back later if the springs sag. 55mm sag is a bit extreme if it is the springs settling.

            You got me worried ;-)
I checked today and it seems like it sagged by around 5-10 mm so I should have around 60 to 65 mm drop now.
55mm was directly after putting the shocks in two years ago and and getting her back on levelled ground.

                        • Not as much as some of these guys on this forum!
When I bought it it was almost stock....a ton of coin later ive only really got exaust, chip & maybe a elocker up back...pretty much everything else is semantics. ..

New cree lights for the roof cage are almost here via post....ive got an Aironboard roof lights switch arrived today....
This will allow a single switch next to the gear stick to be hit by anyone in the truck to switch on all the cree lights 360degrees around the truck in case of emergency or scrub bashing or setting up late arrival at campsites....the wife likes the idea.
