    • The narva's housings broke so I asked the supplier about new ones...so the ultimas are basically brand new for $70....at least they admitted the old housings were crap.

      • I like it a lot. I can image it's a good price too compared to the big names. Will be good to see it in person on the Murray mouth run.

          • Under $1200 with foglight assemblies. ...50mm mild steel tubes with reinforced hilift points....
I had a full build quote done at ARB.....and had crawled underneath all the bars at most trade shows....I crawled under the ironman bar the scratched my head?.....all had good thickness...all had good size piping welded t9 main bar...some had reinforcing where needed....so my choice was not based on obvious cost cutting where you get what you pay for...instead I chose an off the shelf bar for the best price...if I had a lot of coin I would not buy any of the off the shelf bars but instead a custom built one for my purposes.

              • Yes its a very tight close fit and you cannot see it in the cabin from drivers side..
You can hear the turbo spool up pretty loud with the unifilter...if that's your thing......
Ive damaged the grill over the weekend pushing through saltbush up in the malee on a hunting trip...got some great new pinstripes almost through the first coat hahahahah"use it or loose it"

Took the time on the weekend and measured around 65mm drop from having the car on levelled ground to the full expansion of the suspension.

                  Regards

Is that from no weight on the coils to full truck weight sitting on them?
                    Could you explain this further?

Yes, that the wheel travel from "full weight of the truck sitting on the coils" to "having the wheels lifted of the ground".

I have a D4D with Sovereign bull bar and dual batteries, no winch, roughly two years after install.

                      Hope that helps

                      Regards
                      Michael

                      • I think michael I have a very simple solution for you to asertain your vehicle is level or too ass end down or front end down....would it be not a bad idea to place a level along the body between both front and rear axels? (Under your side steps on the body sill).

There are so many variables to what you seek....im certain there is a high probability the sill underneath the side steps is parallel to the chassis....wack a leverl along it and check it out....then whack your level on a few stock prados if you can to check the difference. ...forget the measurements for now...concentrate on the level to give you an unbiased / simplistic diagnostic tool to check for body level.

Does this sound ok?....im not as smart as some but it may give you your answer once and for all.

                        • As for your sag measurement of coils loaded and not loaded...a orthodox sag acceptance for most preload suspension systems is 20%....so if your measurement of 65mm is 20% of sag when fully compressed then your setup is within the norm...if its too much then a possibility of the coils are too soft for your load...and vice versa....if y9u end up splitting hairs over this one do as the forum gods have alresdy suggested...keep the spacer out it the front looks high...put them back in once the front sags heavily when you get all the steel and winches placed on if ever....

If you do not sort this soon this may turn into an obsession for you and detract from your prado 4x4 experiance of just relaxing and having fun...

Seems there is some confusion ;-)
I don't have a problem at all, my car actually sits very well levelled. :-)

I just stated the measurement I have with the spacer as a info for the people who where considering the Ironman lift as an indication that for me it worked well WITh the spacer.
For me the entire set-up is ok and I dont have any issues.

                            Sorry for any misunderstanding.

                            Cheers

                              • I've left it a week or so and now the front has settled along with the rear. Looks good now that the engine weight has compressed the springs. Glad I left them in. Looks nice and level. Not too front up or down. Cheers guys.
