    Hey fellas

My brother in law wants to lift his 120. Do any of you know where in Melb to get a good deal as he will fit them himself and what is a good brand??

Try John, at Zordos suspension. http://www.zordos4wdsuspension.com.au/ After ringing around I found him to be the cheapest, even delivered from qld. He was happy to take a couple of phone calls when I got stuck assembling the front strut.
As to what is a good brand, I have dobinsons, bilsteins combination. I am very happy. A lot of people like kings bilsteins combination too

Roo, I have HD front springs and standard rear. THe front has steel bar, second batt and winch, so all the fruit. I find them excellent, only done 5k or so though in the Prado. I had dobinsons in my navara before that, and was very happy with them.

Am just about to do a simpson crossing with them so will report back after that.

        Sorry OP back on topic.
        Regards, Heath.

I picked up a set of 2 inch lift dobinsons springs, lovells shocks and struts and poly air bags for $920 fom trekmaster in Brisbane, all prices are on the web just google it, and they're all Australian made so we can do a bit for our local manufacturers.

I am happy with Dobinson/Bilstein combo apart from the fact I think I should have a slightly higher spring rate on the front. The rears are fantastic and seem to carry a fair weight very well without being harsh when lightly loaded. Would sort out the fronts, but live a looonnngg way from where I had it fitted.

I have these springs waiting to go in (front C59-302, rear C59-325). How do you think the fronts would go with an alloy bar? Being lighter than a steel bar, I don't want the shocks to top out.

That will depend on the length of your brand of strut, but all aftermarket struts are long enough. If you're going with Bilstein, don't set the circlip at the top position, I would suggest the bottom position (which is the standard position) for an alloy bar with 302 springs.

                      Cheers.
It's a choice between the Bilsteins or Suspension Stuff have an equivalent. Only $200 price difference between the two so I'm more inclined to go with the known, quality brand.

For $200 dollars more, the Bilsteins are well worth it. You won't be disappointed.
