He was talking about increasing actual shock length in in that post. The swaybar spacers will allow the swaybar to sit at an angle closer to factory spec after the lift is applied. With your Bilsteins it probably won't increase suspension down travel, but it may give you better flex.

The photo seems to show that the swaybar spacer replaces the bottom OE swaybar bush with the longer "spacer" bush:
Thanks Peter. So according to Riding On Air, there's not really much advantage installing these spacers with my Bilstein BE5-A713's?Originally posted by Riding On Air View PostAdding a spacer to a shorter shock only allows a higher height range, not more travel.

From whoa to go it probably took 2.5-3hrs without rushing. Having said that, I have removed the airbags before. Like Andrew, I'm unsure how the swaybar spacers are supposed to be applied. Their documentation doesn't mention it, so I might give them a call on Tuesday to see if they can shed some light.. But overall I'm pretty happy with the result and the fitup.

Not yet, been too busy. The current airbags hold air for about 3 days before they deflate, but I will have to get them replaced before I go off road. As Andrew discovered, flexing a damaged airbag is not recommended.

Have you replaced your Airbags yet Peter?Originally posted by Peterpilot View PostI had always planned to replace my airbags with longer items once they were due for replacement. Mine developed a slow leak and now it's time to upgrade.

For me, the fact that the OA6011 airbags are longer, designed for a 2" lift and can handle longer shock lengths of up to 625mm extended was the deciding factor. Since installing my lift and opting for a 618mm extended length long travel rear shock, the OE airbags have been a niggling concern for me. The driver's side one popped out once when I flexed, so I pinned the bag with an R pin and subsequently fitted spacers, which worked well.Originally posted by Anth120playdo View PostWhat was the main reason for deciding to go with the aftermarket bags?
I had always planned to replace my airbags with longer items once they were due for replacement. Mine developed a slow leak and now it's time to upgrade. I look at it like replacing the OE Grandcraps with some BFG A/T tyres, but waiting until the Grandcraps wear out first.Last edited by Peterpilot; 15-01-2013, 04:18 AM.
