  • Rear airbag replacement

Anyone here got instructions or can help me with the procedure on replacing a rear airbag on a 120 Grande. I have one airbag that’s leaking and keeps deflating .Would appreciate any advice from those that have done this in the past.
Don’t want to take it to Toyota they want to charge a fortune just to tell me what the problem is.
If I replace the airbag is it recommended to use the standard factory airbag or look at another option?I have replaced the TERMS shocks with EFS so may want to look at a better airbag.
    Thanks,

Have a look at 1Coolbanana's thread build from post #476 here:

      http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...uild-Up/page48

He fitted Airbagman airbags and seems pretty happy with them. He also shows how they were fitted.

ywork- you don't need the special tool. I just used a pair of tweezers.
Place it either side of the air line and push into the "nozzel"- adjacent to the small cams. this will push the cams open and allow the air line to be pulled out.
I have done this at least 20 times- it takes a bit of wriggling but is simple enough.
BTW- One of the reasons I was happy with the AIRBAGIT gear was they use "quick couple" connectors- which are as simple as push in. they seal and hold pressure- I've had no issues.

Hi can anyone help me out? I am also looking at replacing airbags for the rear but trouble accessing the top of the airbag and don't have an SST tool either.

                          Any help is much appreciated.

I get my SST from my friendly local dealer. Unfortunately, not all dealers will supply the SST. try your local dealer of PP'ers. If no luck, let me know and I can send one up to you at cost.

I'm not far from you (Calamvale). So PM me your mobile number and I'll give you a call (I have the SST tool)
