        Hi Guys

I know this is a 120 thread but is it the exact same process for the 150?

I would like to do my suspension myself to save some coin.

        Cheers

              Hi Macaroon,

I ended up with Toughdogs adjustables with medium duty kingsprings. I did a quick n short run to test the shocks and they are really good. Yet to do the rears and a wheel alignment for the final results.

Ta...sounds like the same as mine. My springs are non HD T.Dogs but I believe they are made by kingsprings..from my limited reading?? I find I never adjust the t.Dogs as u have to get under the car..but at least it's an option if you need it!! Seem popular!!?? U Should enjoy the new ride.

good buildup, I've actually still got the pics from mine but didn't get around to writing it up. Now you have saved me the hassle + mine wouldn't have been as comprehensive. It is definitely an easy DIY job. Similar process for performance cars, Ive done a wrx with coil overs before and same process, just less room without the 4x4!

Did a mates NT pajero last week and also very similar,

                  great writeup!

Yes, I ended up with tough dogs as they had very good reviews. It should be the same as yours.

On the other hand, I was thinking about bilsteins but they were bit expensive.

I like the adjustable suspension on the tough dogs.

Mine came with king springs medium duty as I don't have a bullbar or winch yet. Have wheel alignment booked for tomorrow after which I may take it for a test ride.

                    • Hey guys, cheers for an awesome write-up this is going to save me so much time. I'm hoping to get this done this weekend with the help of a mate's set of tools.

The one piece I haven't picked up yet is a good spring compressor. Any idea on where I can get a set in Perth? Most places just seem to have the Stanley ones which bend. And online I can only find some crappy ones.

Doing a 2-3" lift with custom Cal Offroad springs and Bilstein shocks, with new UCAs and (likely) a 2" diff drop kit. May leave the diff drop kit off for now, as I can always do that later with no more effort.

                      • Just read amts's thread, will probably not invest in spring compressors now. Seems like that is definitely the easiest process to do this.

                        • Hi all, I followed chippies post to the letter of the law but no way could I get the new Bilsteins in without removing the brake calliper along with the electrical brakes worn out warning wire and dropping off the top wishbone and even then it still took considerable force down on the bottom wishbone before the shockie slipped into it's housing, after that I had to jack up the bottom wishbone a fair bit to get the top w/bone reconnected, still in the end I succeeded and it all looks good but I'm a little worried that there is something wrong, anyway time will tell.
                          cheers Mick

                              • Hey Guys. Just thought I'd share. If anyone is concerned about keeping their new springs paint in tact instead of scratching it off with spring compressors, you can put split tubing over the coils and let the compressors bite into that. Cheers. Chaz
