Bankrupt - Bilsteins are great - I have them with King Springs and although the set up was bumpy to begin with, after a month or two of having them they are now superb. Can't comment on the Auto Craft setup but everything I have read has been super positive.

I'm sure they're as good on the Prado as they are on every other car I've had. I just need to finalise the main items in the 'mod list' so that I can match the springs to the added weight.

The reason for asking about the circlip position is because mine was set to the middle slot and I got only 770mm in the front. Whereas you seem to have got 790mm.
FYI - I got an ARB bullbar, spotties etc NO winch though. I know of people eg: Pradogxlv6 got 790mm before the winch went on and circlip was on the middle slot. Whereas Crammy and myself found the front to be 770mm. The rear height is same as yours.
Changing the circlip position requires pulling the front struts out cos the circlip is inside and not visible from the outside.

Hmmmm interesting. Well I wonder how much settle I'm going to get. I took those measurements after coming straight home, barely 15min in the car. It might be more accurate to take a measurement after the new gear has done a bit of work. You think those ARB bars would be much heavier than the Toyota alloy bars? I dunno... there's a bit of steelwork in behind the Sovereign where the winch fittings etc are. Also too, I don't have an N70 sized 2nd battery. Only an N50 EX type that ARB put up near the firewall on the passenger side. No roof rack either. Can't think of anything else that'd make mine lighter, apart from the fuel tank only being at 1/2 ( tripped to the 2nd tank on my way back from the fit out as it happens).
If that circlip is in the middle setting, can you actually see a groove below it?

Got my Bilstiens and springs the other day but I am having trouble finding someone with a spring compressor that will fit the front springs. I tried one who knocked it back saying too hard! I think the small size of the springs is the problem.
Will try to find someone tomorrow unless anyone has a good idea on how to compress the front springs? :shock: :shock:

The ARB Steel bar is about 4kgs heavier than the Alloy bar. I can attest the ARB bar is great cos I ran up the back of another car and caused damage only to the spotties. You don't want to know what happened to the other car!
You can see the groove if you pull the struts out. I will be changing it to the top slot after checking the droop, presently the car looks like its arse is up.

I have installed the Autocraft Bilstein package. I had Hobart 4WD in Kingston fit it. Can't remember the guys name, but he was most helpful. No problems. Am currently in Yulara after driving the length of the Oodnadatta Track. Very happy with the way the car performed.

Thanks john, i'm getting my snorkel done on Tuesday and the suspension fitted. Y Autocraft ( no relation) in Hobart on Wednesday. Got a trip up north and out to the east coast to try it out over the weekend.

Ive purchased and fitted an Autocraft premium Bilstein suspension set up some time ago (VERY happy with the set-up)
