Hi All, great discussions re tyres as i am in the market to replace the Grandtreks too. I have been tossing up between the BF's and the Coopers and am leaning towards the Coopers after much research. BUT... Coopers say that they can get 80,000kms out of their tyres if you rotate and balance every 10,000kms. Over here in the west you can only purchase them from a Tyrepower dealer and must go back to them every 10,000 to do this at a cost of $89. Do you guys believe in this warranty and over the course of 80,000kms on top of about $712 in rotations do you think its worth it. Love to here your thoughts......go easy its my first post.

With the 265/70R17s it's actually 90,000kms - it's a fair question given that the warranty is actually pro-rated and doesn't include balancing and fitting (i.e. at 45,000kms you'd have to cover half the cost of the tyre and pay for fitting) but still it's a better warranty than most and shows the company has a belief in their product.

Just remember if you want, or care, about the mileage warranty you need to purchase from an authorized dealer in a capital city.

Is this the warranty that has in the fine print, ( or used to on the Coopers)
              Void if taken off bitumen?

There are two different warranties - a mileage warranty (capital cities) and the manufacturer's warranty for the tread life of the tyre. I think the bit you refer to applies to the latter and dealers have discretion to reduce the mileage warranty if it's being used mainly off road. But, no mention of it here http://www.coopertires.com.au/index.php?page=warranty

I'm also in the market (265/65/17) and dropped in to see the guys at TyrePower Moorabbin (on Chestervile Road). They quoted $349 per tyre inc F&B and Wheel Alignment.

From what I've been told, the RRP for these is around the $379 mark.

Moorabbin Tyre power were pretty competetive on the ATRs I bought there about 65,000 ks ago. Can't remember the owener name - but he was great to deal with.

I have never seen a show special for coopers in sydney. They only tell u all about them, which tyre type suits u, show u the workingk model and refer u to a dealer. And ihave asked for a price with intention to buy there and then and told them that too.

Has anyone ever bought coopers cheaper at the 4WD caravan and camping show at rosehill sydney??

Didn't see any tyres at the Caravan show. You should be able to haggle down to $369 for 265/65R17 without relying on an "Easter sale". After all, you can get the 265/70R17 for $375.
