No probs Simmo take it easy and live the bush life for a while, well as much as your wife will let you anyway. So are you going to go to the Wattagans trip then now that you have the time?

Also got my eye on the Tuff Truck challenge which is around the same time from memory, and the Canobolas 4WD club (which I have recently joined) have got some great trips coming up this year including Simmo Desert/uluru :P
Hope to catch up with you blokes soon - hopefully at the Watagans and I can give you all an update.....
Just wanted to let you guys (and gals) know I've had the Coopers ATR's in the taller 70 profile for about 6 months now and I'm very happy with them.
The improvement in the mud, and the rough stuff is certainly noticeable compared to the Dunlop Grandtreks (I'm sure Dobbo would agree with me here after our recent Bridle Track trip !)
No noticeable difference in road noise on the blacktop either.
I also ask my mechanic to rotate the tyres every 10,000km - as a local friend with a Prado tells me the front tyres tend to wear more quickly.
I've been on probably 1/2 dozen or more trips with the Cooper's and they have proved themselves in my mind, if anyone is considering them.
Just replaced the punctured Grandtrek with a D694 which is the spare for the moment. I'm trying to squeeze another 5 thou out of the Grandtreks but they're on borrowed time :P
I'm looking at $236.00 each for a full set of D694's .
Just curious, has anyone on here gone bigger then 32s? i.e 285-70-17s
I have 265-70-17 MTRs on my prado, but i would like to go a bit larger, my other strictly offroad (road rego'd tho) runs 37x12.5s and going back to 32s when driving the prado is a biiiiig step backwards.
Cheers but it's worth noting that I believe this has only actually been adopted in Victoria and WA and the other states and territories regulations vary quite widely. Also, in Vic and WA if the pre-existing state regulations conflict with the VSB 14 then they take precedence.
2009 Prado 150 D4D GXL with 265/70R17 Cooper AT/3 tyres, Max Trax, HR tow bar, Airtec snorkel, UHF and the usual recovery gear. On the list: cargo barrier, Bilstein shocks and King springs, deluxe winch bar, 10000lb winch, Lightforce 240 XGT spotlights, dual spare wheel carrier
I got an engineering certificate for mine. In SA
My understanding is they are not unless here has been a rule change recently.
That being said I know of a hell of a lot running them.
