    In ballarat.
Give me a call / text if you want the number.

You should be able to find someone closer?
Anyway they did a good job & I'm told its $110 a wheel.
With the time they spend prepping its cheap!

Does anyone know someone who powdercoats them in Sydney for a reasonable price?

That's just a tad far LOL. I'll look around and try and find a place closer to home. The place I got the current spare painted at don't do powdercoat.

So I called a powdercoating place today and they actually said 2-pack paint will be more durable than powdercoat. They quoted me $100 per wheel including stripping old coatings off and applying the powdercoat. This has really confused me now, I would have expected the opposite advice.

As an example look at Arb bull bars, standard powdercoat Is tough.
Colour code/paint one & watch the chips appear.
            Stones chip paint pretty easy.

Can certainly attest to that with the previous Prado, the ARB bar on that one was color coded and it did chip. That was after it got re-done following an accident though so could be blamed on poor prep work by the panel shop I guess. Just found it really odd that a powdercoating place would say that painting is tougher.

I have found a powder coating place not too far from me that will do the alloys @ $85 ea + GST but they can't do the centre caps since they are plastic and would melt. How do people who have had their wheels powder coated deal with this?

Get a spray can made up with matching colour paint. Dulux, Paint n place, Supercheap can do this.

My ARB bar is totally cracked and faded. Started to fade after about 3 years of age. Now, close to 7 years it is due for a re-furb. My local ARB dealer said that I should have polished the bar. Funny, I used to polish it with wax every time I did the car.

Yes I do see them faded. But not all, so lots if sun may be the big factor?
Being positive, as usual, at least it gives you something to do! You need it!

I'm going to get the bar and the alloys powder coated colour matched in a dark argent (silvery charcoal) like the bar used to be.

Thanks Dave and #### but can they match the same colours as the powders come in? I realise it's just black but there are different shades, don't want it to clash. What prep is required prior to painting?

                              My powdercoat satin black.
                              My paint duplicolour satin black.
                              Looks the same.
No prep, as long as they are clean spray away! 18 months, no problamo. If my wheels started in good condition I would just use this paint. Luv it!

New coated wheels, old caps off my other set.
