I think it's hard to beat the old bfg a/t, bloody fantastic tyre in all aspects, possibly the best ALL Terrain tyre.
Naturally the only advantage the mud tyre has is in mud or snow. So much compromise for so little advantage.
Actually the km2 might be better anti chipping too.
So unless your out driving in the sloppy stuff every trip or weekend, you have the right tyre.
Thanks for the comments so far, will be doing the tyre rotation religiously, and will also be keeping a close eye on tyre pressures for all driving situations to help their life again as well.
It's very disappointing when you buy a 265mm wide tyre & the tread width is often around 200mm.
This is one thing I liked about the kl71 over an inch more on the road x 4.
Yes I probably would have gone bigger in this brand had I known their real size. Something to consider next time, I'm expecting some better fuel economy out of these at least as well. The wife seems happy with them and also claims to lighter steering with these tyres as well.
I'll be interested to hear how they go, I seriously considered these last tyre change but stuck with the AT's, maybe next time!
I considered the All Terrains again this time round AJ but price difference to most AT's means I'd prefer to go with a mud tyre still. Where I drive out bush majority of time is also a factor.

Mate of mine has the KM2 on his GU Patrol (I know what you're thinking) and he gets a wicked (as in bad) hum when travelling at highway speeds. He is running 33's.
Any Prado owners experience this?

I mostly use my Prado on trips, it's a bit of toss of the coin for me; the mind says AT's but the heart says a good set of muddies is the go. I thought $360 was good price seeing as you are in Darwin, I paid $350 for AT's a couple of months ago.
Anyway, it will be good to see your updates, Arnhem Land should be a good testing ground I gotta get up there one day!
Cheers Andrew

Crikey, you've only been back home a couple of weeks and already you are planning (dreaming) of your next trip.
You remind me of - ME.

That is a classic sign of the tyres scalloping , usually due to insufficient rotates , they don't seem to wear that well on the Nissans , it is one of the tyres that i would try and steer the customer away from if they owned a Patrol , and if they insisted on them well , the noise etc wasn't my problem then
2012 Graphite GXL T/D Auto, with all the normal crap you fit
It's worth getting up this way if you have the time. If your coming up from SA would be worth fitting in some stages of Binn's track if you haven't all ready checked it out. As for Arnhem Land well worth heading up to Garig Gunak Barlu National Park (Cobourg Peninsula) in the June July period.

Thanks for the feedback Bear.
He was keen on them no matter what and ordered them via eastern states but had locals fit them.
I don't think his issue is due to tyre wear though as it has happened from since new.

I've got so many trips I want to do I need to retire now to have enough time to do them all
Cheers Andrew
You and me both, AJ.
I'm doing a stint at Warakurna (Giles) so I'll be sure to get some more bushbashing and sight seeing in whilst I'm there. As long as the locals don't give me too much grief that is.
