What's the treadwear and traction classifications on your tyres?

I'll add them to the list... If no one wants the list let me know and I'll give it the flick.
I have 10,000kms on my STT's and they have not shown any signs of wear. I have had the car realigned and the wheels rebalanced at 5000kms.

The traction classification.. afaik they are classed as a mud terrain tyre. As for my opinion of thier traction.. onroad: as good as the grandtreks in the dry and probably better in the wet once you get used to the higher profile of the tyre.

offroad: sand excellent, i had my concerns as to their ability for flotation being an agressive tyre, but that was soon put to rest after getting onto the beach.

dirt: fast dirt is good fun, especially if its a bit wet, they are sure footed and predictable.

hill climbs: both loose and dry they have not dissapointed me yet, they do scrabble a bit but quickly find traction.

    mud: 8)

IM with you on this one Matt.. 15000 on mine and have driven them hard on all surfaces..

      rotate them every 5ooo km

they have the reinforced side walls and i find them awsome..
will be fitting them again when they wear.

Is there NO-ONE out there with Procomps?

The ATS guys recommend them - you'd think someone on the forum would have taken them up on it??

BTW, it's nice to be back...

Moved house and the stupid b@stards from Telstra who assured me that my internet connection would be transferred seamlessly. lied to me... what a shock

We have been off the air for over a month

In any event, it is nice to be back...

Well with MTRs this is what we do - we just drive them and
give them hell and they just perform without me worrying much where
or how and on what I am driving....

Some of my posts may have come across as cranky and pointing the finger at the ATS trips.. but i do sometimes get sick of people (be it with lots of experiance or not) bagging a product that they have seen fail, regardless of any success that that product may have had in the same conditions with different drivers. I have known people that have taken BFG AT's into extreamly remote places and NEVER had a failure.. that to me has to say something.

Well, did I bag them? I just said they are not the tyres to
take in the outback, and I don't recommend them there ...
Yes all tyres can fail and I had MTR with less that 1000km die on me
as well, but some tyres are more prone to that than overs...

Agan from experience -1 guy with Coopers STT had 3 dead tyres by the end of the trip...

You can even take Grandtrecks to the outback and don't have a single puncture - but you'll spend all the trip worrying about tyres and where you drive rather than enjoing yourselft and surrounds...

                Hey Stan,

Do the MTR's only come in 16's?

Or is there now a 17inch version?

Matt the classifications will be written on the tyre wall.. They refer to the amount of traction and also treadwear of the tyre.
