i had a set on my old 80 series and did around 30k on them and they still looked new......not brand new but not even a 1/4 worn....had no hesitation on getting them on my 120 prado...so second set.....no questionsLast edited by nigelh; 09-03-2016, 09:35 PM.

Ok, so rang around, got quoted $420-$328 F&B.
BUT I had 3 stores try very hard to talk me out of them!
They were all rubbish-ing the new KO2 saying they are a far softer compound then previously and they are finding customers only getting 40-50,000ks out of them. Also, 2 people said they are made in Thailand now, not the states.
I know they have only been out for a little while now, but anyone care to comment on their mileage?

Ok, sounds good Michael. These are definitely on the list. Will chase prices tomorrow.
Dingle, that is a good way of thinking about it I guess.

Myminirocks I put these on a couple of weeks ago and it's easily a 14mm lift. Without measuring I would swear it's more than that. My bride had words about it so it's significant. The speedo now reads ~99.5 when the gps is at 100. As the tread wears it'll end up just over 100 so perfect really. You'd have to assume that's what the drivetrain is designed for. Nothing else would make sense. Also I got the spare to fit under the cover by lowering pressure to 20psi with no spacer required. I carry a compressor but could get home on 20psi anyway. PS they are meaner looking in person than on the brochure.Originally posted by myminirocks View PostThat way I don't have any stress about strain on the tranny and diffs, rear door, needing spacers etc etc. ...... But if someone can confirm for me that the 70's will give 14mm of lift, then that's a different story.
Edit- apologies, realised I'm in the 120 thread - spare wheel cover info may not apply.

Awesome cheers yeah I almost got the 275/65 but ended up with 265/70 even though is technically not legal here...

Couple of things but mainly for the extra clearance. When I bought the 150 the rules up here limited the increase in tyre diameter to 15mm. 275/65 are only 14mm larger. Then the rules changed last year and I could go +50mm so 265/70 was an option. Coincidentally the camper came with 265/70 17 on P25 Dynamic steel rims albeit with the old BFG T/As.Originally posted by nigelh View PostCan I ask why you went from 275/65 to 265/70 and are you happy ?.
265/70 17 is a common size and a size I could get the new KO2s.
So now the Prado, the camper and my trailer are running 265/70. I am going to get two more Dynamic rims and KO2s and these I will run on the C ute when we go bush. I will use the three old BFGs as spares.
Matt the increase will be more or less 14mm radius, 28mm overall. I don't have and tyre to compare.

Actually that's a good point nigelh, I hadn't considers the extra weight on the rear door. I have already had to adjust my door sag once and I also have a home made table on the read door that adds weight.
Michael that rimsntyres site is a good reasource and has helped me clear up a few questions about offset as well.
I'm still thinking the 70's vs the 65's would only give about 7mm lift rather then 14mm?
So then I ask myself is it worth it for 7mm? For the extra money spent on the 70's I could just put some polyairs in the back so I can level off when the camper is hitched, which is really the whole purpose of me looking at bigger Tyres. That way I don't have any stress about strain on the tranny and diffs, rear door, needing spacers etc etc. ...... That's it. But I use the power of Google. Rims n tires is a good one. Actual sizes vary and according to BFG the KO2 is a little under sized compared with the designation.

NOk I have no idea what you just said BUT....... In reference to your previous post,Originally posted by myminirocks View PostAhhhh.... Ok, I think I get this now..... Seriously, I don't consider myself a dumb guy (most dumb people probably don't either) but the tyre size thing has had me confused for a while.
So as I understand it now, the 70 is 5% of 265 bigger then then the 65, or 13.25mm, but being a circle, would that not be divided in half because it is only one side of the tyre between the rim and the ground? Obviously you come to 28mm in total and divided by 2 to get 14mm but I'm struggling to understand why it was 28mm divided by 2 rather then 14mm divided by 2?
Also I edited my last post.... Meant to say 5% more, not 5mm more.
1 I think the speedo is more correct going by the gps... But no change you will notice if you don't have one
2 I have no rub at full lock or with a bit of suspension flex ( driving on the beach, undulations.
3 none that I noticed.. Maybe 1 lt per hundred if that...
4 definitely won't fit the cover on and will need a spacer.....
Definitely does give a touch more lift... I'm not worried about extra stress on drive train as they are Toyotas not pajeros so they are made for a bit of hard work so a little extra weight won't hurt as long as you don't drive it like you stole it...
If anything I was worried about is the extra weight on the rear door hinge...
I do know BFG make 275/65 size as well as the 265/70. Cheers Nigel

Time for some new shoes. I have been very happy with the KM2's but time to replace.
Quick questions for people running the 265/70R17's KO2's on a 120 Series
1. Any Speedo change?
2. Rub? (I have 2" lift) with sovereign Bar.
3. Fuel consumption change?
4. Can you confirm that it will not fit on the back door without a spacer and will not fit under the hard wheel cover.
And just a general question about running 70's, does it place any further stress on the drive train that should be considered? My mechanic has advised against it because of the extra stress on the auto tranny/diffs etc.
Oh and also my reasoning behind going for 70's is to get just a little bit more lift (to match the level of the camper). Am I correct in thinking though that 70's only add 5% more lift?Last edited by myminirocks; 05-03-2016, 04:12 PM.
