After bit of initial 'argy bargy' from the sales guy questioning whether I would drive to Sydney (from Canberra) to get my tyres fitted, I had a Canberra Jax shop accept my request to price match Tempe tyres on qty 4 K02s in a brand new size 265/60R18 which were not in stock. I thought this was pretty decent of them, as I had asked the same of Bob Jane and they gave me the grey import spiel (i.e. that Tempe are not authorised distributors) and came a little way towards, but would not match Tempe.

    Cheers,

    David.

The drop in value of the aussie dollar has pushed prices up.

Pretty much the same, $339 for 5 tyres fitted, balanced, including wheel alignment and disposal of old tyres.

Same as what I paid 2 weeks ago for 5 with fitting, balance and wheel alignment! Tyresales.com.au.

Must say they are a nice tyre, the sidewalls look great.

The 70's seem to be a little cheaper - not sure why. Are they all still made in the USA?

Jax Tyres website listing the KO2 265 65 17 for $355 a corner which seems a bit pricey compared to what others are paying.

You would go back to Tempe Tyres for warranty claims. Handy if you are local.
I bought from Don Cornell tyres and warranty will also need to go through them. Tested this out as the tyres arrived at the courier depot with damaged beads. I guess this is a pretty clear open and shut case, but they sent a new tyre after requesting for photos of the damage. So far pretty good experience with grey imports.

I suppose that is the question. How likely would it be to ask for a warranty claim grey import or not on the BFG's

After all I'm yet to hear people chasing 'warranty' on BFG's
Be aware that BFG AU won't cover warranty on tires sourced from non-official channels. I found some cheap on eBay too but the seller was honest enough to mention this when I queried the warranty status.

Be aware some places charge a disposal fee on tyres.

I got mine from Bob Jane for $335 fitted.
