My 265/70 spare was fitted to the rear door by the tyre dealer... No spacer... Am I missing something? Looks like he took off the bit of plastic that sat between the tyre and door at the bottom.
Its time to replace the Cooper AT3s before tackling Tasmania, I am seriously looking at the new KO2. I have heard mixed reviews about the older KOs' in the wet and wondered how the new version is fairing in the real world? Jax have the 265/70-17 for $355 fitted, but still shopping around for the best price.

I ended up fitting a Kaymar spacer to my 150 as although the tyre didn't rub, I thought it was too close for comfort.
Aug 14 150 GXL D4D Auto. BFG KO2's. Hi flow muffler. 7mm EGR restrictor plate.Bushman fridge.
I just got mine today! 5 tyres fitted for just over $1700.
Only been on Tarmac so far but very impressed with lack of road noise.
Just need to get off road to try them out this weekend!
Good choice I think. Always wanted BFG's.

Hi Ben,
Fellow Sunshine Coaster here.
Could I ask where you got your BFG's from.
Need new boots for Cape trip next year.

Fair enough. Having a closer look at it today that makes sense. Rubber's actually touching the door... Looks like I'll be picking up a spacer shortly.

OK am getting the KO2s next Saturday. It was funny as rang Bob Jane (quote was $375) as they have a best price guarantee and if you show them a quote under theirs they have to meet it and pay 10% back to you for the difference. Well after twice calling and they promised to ring me back, they didn't
Tried Beaurepaires and they were going to charge me $410 a tyre fitted and then $60 on top for an alignment! K-mart quoted me $370, Tyre factory $350 and the one with the best price was Canterbury tyres - $348. So it pays to ring around, I will save about $400 on buying 5 from the cheapest compared to the most expensive quote.
Now does anyone want 5 Dunlop Grandtrek A22s going cheap, excellent condition??
@RobboPrado & mjrandom - what size were you buying? Presumably 17's?
I'm after 265/60R18 (stock size for Kakadu) and the best price I have seen is $399 at Tempe Tyres in Sydney. I'm in Canberra, and walked in to Bob Jane, and they mentioned their Best Price Guarantee, but added $15 freight and $15 because Tempe Tyres are not an authorised BFG (Michelin) dealer apparently and they gave me the spiel about Tempe not having a direct link with the Australian Distributors if anything goes wrong and that Tempe's tyres are grey imports that could be for an O/S market and different compound etc. I guess $429 each is not bad considering, but am keen to know if anyone's got a better price in the 18s.
Cheers,
David.
