spare tyre cover fits, just, better off leaving off though i reakon. havent "searched" but are people using spacers with the 265 65 R17's aswell?

I use a spacer to stop my wheel cover from rubbing, plus it fits better.

rightio, cheers, there looks to be plenty of clearance at the top, but it does look very tight around that plastic shroud at the bottom.

          Re: BRIDGESTONE D694 PRICE

Thanks mostly to Hutch I've decided to get a set of 5 265/65/17LT 694s. Got quoted $298, $299 and $306 as they are on offer until the end of the month. Should be coming in today so should be on the car either tomorrow or Friday

I've got the hard wheel cover - will this still fit and do I need a spacer? If the spacer is needed or recommended, where can I get one? No I haven't searched the forum yet.

          Thanks,

            Thanks,
Trek your cover will still fit, it will be a bit tighter to get on as thle sidewalls r a bit squarer than the original dunlop.

                Re: BRIDGESTONE D694 PRICE

Got the 694s fitted today - haven't done many kms yet but so far I'm happy with them. Ride is a bit harder (but not so much it makes much difference) - same with the road noise (slightly more but not a problem). Steering feels much more positive though which is great. I'm going on a 4WD course at the end of February so that will be their first real off-road test.

Good stuff trek, u will get a lot out of the offroad course and the new tyres will work a treat for u. If u r starting out the courses r worth their money.

Thanks mate - never been off-road in my life so doing the intro' course with guys from work (5 4WDs and 15 people) so should be a blast We were able to book the day just for us rather than as part of a larger group so should get some really tailored training - can't wait. I will probably do both the sand and bush one day courses as well afterwards to get really started. Might even be able to get a picture to replace the RC car as my avatar

                      Re: BRIDGESTONE D694 PRICE

Just ordered 6 x D694 LTs 275/65/R17 from Jax at Aspley. $287 each. Thought that was okay.

Now I have to find another wheel for that second spare.

Oh yeah, I am getting a Prado next week too I hope.

Just fitted some 275/65 LTs today and I'm very impressed so far, the steering response is great and I didn't notice any noise, maybe a bit rougher ride but not a problem. The spare wheel cover doesn't fit but I think I can modify it to fit to keep the boss happy.

$287 a tyre from Jax at Aspley, I think I stole Spooky's tyres because they had 6 in store for another customer, hope the replacements arrive in time for Spooky.

                                The 265/65s were $281 a tyre.
