  • Spare wheel size

What I am wanting to know is my prado carries the spare up under the boot will the increased size to the 265/70R17 fit under there?

Also what If I don't change the spare to the same size as the rest of the car as its still a brand new tyre but in 265/65R17 not the new 265/70R17?
Will this have any affect when I have to use the spare?

    Cheers

120s in Australia have the spare on the back door?

265/70R17 is 1/2" bigger in radius. So grab a 1/2" rod and place it against your spare and move it all the way round. If it hits something, then you may have a problem.

It is not a good idea to run different diameter tyres on the same axle. The diff would be working a bit more than usual. Perhaps ok for emergencies.
