Noticed a few guys run higher pressures in the front than the rear. Is there any theory behind this? Weight of the engine compared to little load in the back?? Do you even it up if loaded in the back or towing??

My MT ATZ 4 Ribs look flattish at 36-38 psi.. Rear drawers and sahara bar, dual batts etc. If loaded even 42 looks flattish in the rear and i aint half as loaded as some of u guys!

I believe you mine came with 64psi!!! I thought gee this steering is light. But what gets me is the tyre placard stating 29 psi is the go. I'm a little confused even after reading this thread. I've been running 36 psi but have noticed increased wear in the centre. So I've dropped them to Toyota spec thinking that if anyone would know it'll be them.

          Cooper LTZ 285x60x18's

          Road:38-40psi seems to work best

Sand: Soft Perth sand 15psi works well and leaves a bit up your sleeve..

Tracks, mud, etc general stuff I drop to about 28psi..
2010 Kakadu with all the usual stuff.... Build up thread below

OK guy's a question that could only come from a newbie............. You travel 230kms on the black stuff at around 110-130km/hr (NT), hit the gravel and drop the pressure. Are the pressures you refer to above, hot tyre pressure? Cause at cold pressure were are looking at 28 psi but get to the dirt and the hot tyre pressure is around 40 psi!!

Somewhere else on Pradopoint is what I recall as being the Pirelli rule. If your tyres are at the right pressures cold, then they will increase by 4psi when hot. If they increase by more they were too low to start, and if they increase by less they were too high to start. Basically, this seems to work for me. It applies to black-top rather than gravel & sand.
