Cheers Hazza, your all heart!! Yes that's the problem when you want to go up a size in tyres. At $400 a pop, 5 tyres certainly hurts the hip pocket...

I have the MT 4 ribs on mine (with a spare) and have had a claim with Suncorp after I hit a roo and no issue with the tyres. I am going to use the unused spare when I replace them so I only have to buy three, not sure when that will be though as I have done 40'000 k (30'000 k on dirt and off road) and still have 50% tread.

I rotate all six though so at least they all wear evenly and I get a lot of life out of them.2011 150series GXL

In the wet they handle well with no negative remarks here. On the forest track I ran them at 25 psi and they handled very well and felt more at home. In the mud and up 'A Break' hill they really were home and performed faultlessly.
The whole trip (other than 'A Break') I was in 4x2 and never felt the need to do otherwise. I believe I could have easily done 'A Break' as well in 4x2 (Prado is an all-wheel drive).
Having gone up a size to 265/70/17 I cannot see any change in the speedo v RPM although I know I will be going a little faster. Have to borrow a GPS and test this out. Meantime it's a little slower past fixed radars just in case.
What I did find a little odd is the vehicle feels more powerful - performs better taking off and on the road. Bit of a mystery considering I went up a size.

My mate had and arb bar before his lift, and has 265/70 bfg they were nowhere near itOriginally posted by Troy1 View PostQuick question anyone got a ARB bar and the mickey 4 rib with out a lift? Just curious if they are gonna scrub on the front?
Many may know this but for anyone who dont...
Note: many ppl seem to ask, or say has it got a lift, like you cant fit those without a lift..... (most 4x4 shops/tyre shop)
well the way i see it, a lift aint gonnfix ya problem, it needs to fit without a lift.....
once your offroad, and it fully compresses to the bump stop as most good sets ups would, it may then hit, or add full lock to that, no point having a lift and thinking its ok but when on a difficult track all flexed up ripping a tyre open or tearing parts off the car because tyres are too big.
Just a thought........

I was able to get them for $360 each for 5, and the guy even gave me the Balance and Wheel alignment as well.
I reakon if I was buying 8 of them I would be saying you want them for at least $350 each.
The place I got mine from was so busy as well, I think he works on the fact that you sell alot more if you sell them cheap..and make more money if i sell lots of tyres.
Hi guys, Im shopping for these also
just to add an update,
The Mickey Price list for ATZ4ribs 265/70-17 are currently $405.00 each
I have been quoted anything from that (at arb) down to $345.00 (to which arb said "jeez theyre not covering their costs, but I'll match it") hahahahahahaha
also the 285/70-17 $462.00 on the MT list, but again $399.00 each is the cheapest so far
It may pay to ring around.....ebay.....call places...... hope i just saved you $200

Good point #############, thanks for that :-) Would 285 70 17 fit? Would be awesome if they did, technically I have to get the 265 70 17's engineered anyways :-( I got quoted in canberra $405 for the ATZ 4 rib and $420 for the MTZ in 265 70 17's. I really want the MTZ for say piece of mind, but wondering if the fuel consumption and wear will be a lot more?2005 Toyota Prado Grande 3.0 TD - ARB Deluxe winch bar, Avenger 9500lb winch - nylon rope, Safari Snorkel, DP Diesel Chip, Lightforce HID 240's 50w, Oricom UHF, Bushranger Mud Tamer mats, Toyota Genuine Tow Bar, Toyota Genuine bonnet protector and headlight protectors, ARB Roof top tent and awning, ARB dual battery system with Red ARC and Optima deep cycle battery, Max Trax, ARB Compressor and Rear Air Locker, Waeco 50L fridge/freezer.

Best price I could get was $375.00 for the 265/70/17. One thing to consider is if they are not purchased from a Micky Thompson dealer you forfeit the warranty. This may not bother some people but just throwing out there for those who do.Originally posted by Anth120playdo View PostHi guys, Im shopping for these also

Arb quoted $405 rrp, they are a dealer....After I told them I was quoted $350 for 265/70-17
They said they'd match it.
It sounds like 285/70 may scrub a bit
I'm trial fitting them On Tuesday I have to c for myself, not enuff ppl saying they won't fit and even more saying we have fitted those to 120's before.
My dilemma is do I go for Stz in 275/70 if the 285 don't fit?
Or do I try the 265/70 atz4 which is narrower at the tread on the fantastic Stz 265/65 I already have......

Ok, so I found 285/70-17 new on eBay $399 at a MT dealer
Trial fitted one, to my surprise the cleared most stuff well, except
Where it hit the UCA! Yep with standard offset it hits the UCA a lot!
10-15 less offset may well sort that, or an aftermarket UCA but then may come closer to guards
And flares etc.
IMO they are too big and I was dreaming to bother trying them
Hahaha.......
I certainly don't want to go to too much trouble to fit a little bit bigger tyre.
So now I will be trying STZ 275/70-17 and suspect i may end up with atz4 in 265-70/-17
Will report back!
